JACKSON COUNTY FIFTH COUNTRY, SAYS CENSUS Some interesting figures released from Waahlngton by the department of commerce, bureau of the census, show that the pear crop of ths United States represented 4.8 per cent of the value of all fruits and nuts , har vested. The 60 leading pear counties In the United States are ranked accord ing to the number of trees of bearing age. Twenty-two of the counties are located in California and 11 in New York. Yakima county, Washington, leads the list, followed by Sacra mento, Placer and Santa Clara coun ties, California, and Jackson county, Oregon. Taking fifth place In the nation, Jackson county showed reports from 1,013 farms with 108,490 trees, not of bearing age, and 868,314 of bearing age.
