Nu merous fumbles had occurred from the same cause for Bend and Med ford alike, but both teams managed to cover their own fumbles. Gill risky Rcturni Kick At klckoff of the second Jialf, GH Insky, behind perfect Interference, carried the ball back 45 yarns, where he was forced out of bounds. The very instant GUInsky received the ball, his teammates started cutting would-be tacklers down like an Im mense combine cutting wheat. When they had cut down one man they would get up and pop another down. Medford Scores Following this, the Medford root era came to their feet yelling, "We want a touchdown I" Their wish was fulfilled for It wasnt a minute later until the mighty Tigers swept down the field under the plunging of Bill Bates and slicing of Mux GUInsky. Bill pounded away at the line and placed the ball on the three-yard stripe, and QlUnsky dove through an opening In the line for the touch down. Medford linesmen moved that b!g 235 pounder like be was a practte dummy and opened up a hole In the line big enough to drive a wagon through. Olnnsky booted the ball from placement with White holding It for the coup de grace. However, It took the Medford line up three tries from the five-yard line to make the touchdown. Every time the drive was made the Bends ters would pile up In a mass Viat looked the slue of a mountain, but finally weakened with the consistent pound ing of the backa and the Iron man drive of the linesmen. GUInsky made the touchdown from the three-yard line. least Quarter Hectla The fourth quarter was an eiclt- lng phase. Medford completed some very snappy passes to Bob Hlnman, who. In trying to get away from his tacklers, was forced to be content with a yard less In the way of gain than formerly. Medford started on a rampage that brought excited root tert to their feet when, on the ex change of passes. Baker for Medford grabbed the narrow end of the pig skin In his fingers planted the cleats of hts shoes firmly In the sawdust of Van Scoyoo field and wetn racing down the field wltn one man be tween him and the goal line. Baker almost got away but didn't succeed In shaking loose his left foot, which waa firmly held by Marsden, the Lava Bears' flashy end. The ball waa deep In Bend territory when the gun end ed the game and gave Medford the mythical state championship of Ore gon. Medford predominated in every thing except passes and punts. Doff Motesktn The Burghermetstera have put away their suits for the 1933 eason and broke training Thursday even ing with a big turkey feed. After a couple of weeks of rest, many of the team will appear for basketball practice. Both conch and players and fans generally frown on any more football this year. It la doubt ful If the stat athletic board would sanction a post-season game. Coacft Darwin K. Burgher elosed another football season with hts usual high standing. In three years he has produced a runner-up and a state champion, and today ranks as one of the best high school coaches in the state. His teams are not the crushing aggregations of the Cal llson years, but Instead gain a lead and hold It, This accounts for the low scores. Only in the Ashland game this year did the Tigers strive for points, and rolled up a 39-to-0 majority. This year Medford played teams from the Willamette valley, the coast, eastern Oregon and north ern California, It waa a diversified schedule. Though many of the 1033 squad will graduate, Medford will havo an other strong team next year. Tommy White. Glllnbkl and Bennett, three mainstays, graduate, but Bates, Ohe- lardl and Brown are left In the back fleld. Prospect are that t.he 1934 line will be heavier than this year.
