Get Divorce Decrees Two divorce decrees were granted in circuit court thia morning. They were in the case of Nathlee Hawes vs. William James Hawes, and Dorothy Burnett vs. Floyd Burnett. Moore Itecovers Loren Moore of Butte Falls left the Sacred Heart hos pital this morning after spending 10 days there, receiving treatment for serious injuries of the left leg. He was reported In a much improved condition. ' Mrs. Jennings Moves Mrs, Ralph Jennings has rented her home on the Jacksonville highway and la now with her son-in-law and daughter,' Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jennings, She will spend the winter with them at their home, 618 South Holly. Tengwald, local representative. Rummage Sale Planned The wom en of Sacred Heart Catholic church are making plans for the rummage sale scheduled for Friday and Satur day of this week. It will be jreld in the Whillock buidlng on West Main street, and promises to offer many bargains. Chorus to Rehearse The Teachers' Chorus of Jackson county will hold regular rehearsal Saturday morning, October 21, at 10:30 o'clock, at the auditorium Of the courthouse. Miss Harriet Baldwin is the director. Mrs. Effle Herbert Yeoman la the accom panist. All members are urged to be present. Church Lawn Graded The first section of the new church lawn at Phoenix was graded and seeded on Monday, under the direction of C. C. Hartley, chairman of house and grounds, assisted by Messrs. Frame, Walker, Roberts and Peterson. Seed for the lawn was donated by the Mon arch Seed and Feed company of Med ford. Grangers Plan Soctal The Talent Orange plans to hold a social meeting Thursday night. A short business meeting will precede the program, ac cording to the announcement yester day. Cards and dancing will be en Joyed and a box supper. All women and girls are asked to bring boxes. An invitation Is extended all Grang ers. Pftper Is Out "The Bulldozer," published by Camp Lake o' the Woods, is now off the mimeograph, and In cludes a number of Interesting ar ticles, poetry and Information con cerning the camp. The foreword in the issue states: "These pages have been developed in response to an ln eisent demand on the part of the of ficers and men of Camp Lake of the Woods F-40, company 1642 CCC, for company newspaper that will give reliable Information in regard to the many activities in which the com pany is engaged. Many of these pages are sent home to the folks in Illi nois, Klamath Falls, Medford and many other places for which they were intended." Original Program A group of or iginal songs by local writers and com posers will be presented over K.MED Friday evening at 6:30, and free com ments and criticisms by phone or postcard on th emerits of the com positions are requested by the writ ers. The numbers to be presented are:- "My Kid Brother," words and music by Joseph L. Fader; "Dreams of Home and You." words and music by Mrs. F. V. Bradford; "Please Won't You Come Back to Me." words and music by Clyde Davis; "Rose Song." words and music by Frank McCray. All four soncs will be sung by Mer land Tollefson, with Fred Alton Height, the arranger, at the piano. AMERICA URGED BY BAKER TO RESIST EUROPE'S HATRED NEW YORK, Oct. 18. (VP) Newton D. Baker of Cleveland, former secre tary of war, asked today on behalf of the national conference of Jews and Christians, that "the outbreak of In tolerance abroad not be duplicated in this country." "Whatever may be the concern of any members of the conference per sonally about the overseas situation," his statement continued, "the con ference Itself expresses no opinion and seeks to have no Influence be yond the happy example we hope America will set in being a country in which neither race nor religion are allowed to be used for political and economic discrimination. "We thank God for the constitution of the United States and our whole object is to make Its great principles and guarantee effective not only in the courts, which enforce them, but in the hearts and minds of our own people." Mr. Baker said he wanted It clearly understood his remarks were not di rected toward the foreign situation. His statement came after a con ference of co-chairmen of the orga nizationRoger W. Straus, represent ing the Jewish religion; Professor Carlton J. H. Hayes, the Catholic re ligion, and Mr. Baker, the Protestant religion. Lionel Barrymore in "One Man's Journey" will be the screen attrac tion. This year'fis edition of the Georgia minstrels Is the greatest edition of this show ever attempted. They come to Medford direct from Snn Francisco en route to the Oriental theater in Portland. The show was booked into the Craterian through the Fanchon & Marco offices In Los Angeles.
