Arrangements of white pe tunias, snapdragons and orsnge blos soms, with sprays of gypsophlla and smylax completed the white dignity of the floral decoration of the altar, before which the couple knelt. The bride, lovely In afternoon gown of peach mouaaellne de sole, of long fitted line with circular flounce Bnd puffed sleeves, carried a shower bou quet of lltlea of the valley and cecll brunner roses with a spray of blue delphinium offering a pleasing con trast to the coloring of her dress. Bhe waa given In marriage by her father and had as her only attend ant her younger sister, Mlas Dorothy Roberta, who wore an afternoon dress of soft blue crepe, toe length, and slippers of the same coloring. 8be carried a bouquet of pink camellias. The groom, Mr. Mantz, waa un attended. Following the wedding aervlce. the guest continued to the dining room, where the bridal table waa arranged with centerpiece of pink and white aweetpeaa. smylax and gypsophlla and white tapers. The wedding cake top ped with miniature bride and groom, waa also decorated with 30 candles, which were later lighted by the bride In celebration of her birthday anni versary, which waa the following day. Yellow gladioli and golden atnnla and an arrangement of white glad ioli and white zinnias sdded beauty to the rooms, where buffet luncheon waa served. Mrs. Roberta, mother of the bride, was attired In afternoon dreaa of blue crepe with smart detail! of lace. Assisting her In presiding were: Mrs. K. Q. Bsrdwell, Mrs. J. J. Iramens, Mrs. Wheldon Blddle Jr., and Mrs. Corbln Edgell. Among Immediate friends of the bride assisting about the rooms were the Misses Clara Mary Fuson. Betty Bsrdwell snd Har riett Campbell. Following luncheon about twenty- five guest oontlnued to the airport with Mr. and Mra. Msnta, prefac lng their boarding of the northbound plan with a shower of rice. After arrival In Portland Thuradsy evening, the bride and groom continued east ' by plane to Chicago, arriving there at 8:50 Friday. ' From Chicago they will go to Mich igan to spend a month and will then motor back to Palo Alto, Calif., where they will nuke their home, while Mr. Manta completes hla senior year at Stanford university. Miss Arnold and Mr, Huson To Wed Of Interest to their many friends (n southern Oregon Is announcement of the engagement of Miss Msrgaret Arnold, daughter of Mr. and Mra. H. W. Arnold of Vancouver, Wash., to Derail Huson, son of Mrs. Anna Hu son of this city. Date of the wadding haa not been told but It Is under stood It will be an event of the very near future. Both the bride-elect and her fiance are popular members of the local younger set. I-adle Aid Herts Friday Mrs. Carl Flchtner waa hostess Fri day st a one o'clock covered dish luncheon for members of the English Lutheran Ladles' Aid. The long table at which 30 ladles were seated, was attractively decorated with summer flowers. Following the business session, the group enjoyed visiting and sawing on the lawn at the Flchtner borne where the flower garden and lovely slide tree made an attractive spot to spend the afternoon. Charles Oardner, chaplain, officiat ed. "White flowers greens and tall candelabra decorated the altar and the bride waa given In marriage by her father. She wore a gown of white aatln, fashioned with a high square neckline, long fitted sleeves and a long train. The long tulle veil was edged with the same lace which formed the cap headdress and she carried a shower ot lilies of the valley, white aweetpea and garden laa. Miss Polly Mitchell, sister of the bride, aa maid of honor, wore yel low organdie, made with a full floor length skirt and ruffled eleevea. Her turban was of green velvet. matching her slippers end he car ried delphinium and salmon colored snnpdragona, which were carried by all attendants. "The brldesmslds were Mrs. John W. Mrs. Whip ple presented an act in mental tele pathy and the two young ladles en tertained with harmony singing and tap dancing.
