Miss Jessie Seabrooke, Misses Edith and Ruth Sage, are among those taking advantage of the excursion rates to Portland Friday evening. While north the Misses Sage will visit their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Sage, at Diley. Mr. and Mrs. John McBrlde and Miss Mildred Cregory are enjoying a vacation on McKenzle river. Mrs. Lulu Pendland of Marshfleld, arrived Thursday to visit her daugh ter, Mrs. John Nealon, and family. Dr. L. D. Inskeep and family of 1 Medford. Mr. and Mrs. H. Van Hoev " enberg of Sams Valley, Mr. and Mrs. Flelsher and son Ja,mes, of Central Point, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Quacken bush of Coker Butte, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Scherer of Tolo, were among the large crowd that attended the water carnival at Bybee bridge Au gust 8. Stanley 'Lydlard of Medford spent last week here stacking the grain on his mother's farm. The Nealon-Wllson threshing out fit finished operations here last Sat urday and moved to the Sams Val ley district. The swimming classes conducted at the Bybee bridge the past two weeks by Miss Evelyn Hamilton, were brought to a close Tuesday eve ning with a water carnival. Swim ming races and water stunts of many kinds were carried on which amused the crowd of nearly five hundred. Many prizes and Red Cross awards were given out. The people of the community feel deeply Indebted to Miss Hamilton for her generous do nation of her time In giving these valuable Instructions. Eagle Point Tolo TOLO, Aug. 11. (Spl.) Ralph Dewlt has accepted manage ment of one of the Wing orchards and will be moving from his home here to the orchard near Jackson ville In the near future. His son Nicholas, will have charge of the orchard here. Harry Steele Jr., will assist him. The threshing machine went through here last week. Ralph Zumwalt of Jacksonville was here on business Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. John Cotton of Med ford were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Messenger Sunday. Miss June McOoy of Mt. Shasta, Calif., who Is visiting at the Olsen home, and Ivan Olsen were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Marshall Sat urday evening. Miss Atleen Latham and Mrs. Ern est Beer of MedUOrd, spent Sun day with Mrs. Beer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Hughes. Miss Zola Lowden was the lunch eon guest of Miss Valeria Whitney at the Royal Crest orchard Friday. Donald Wheeler of Medford. was calling on friends here Friday.
