Dogs In pound Ashland officers have been rounding up numerous dogs, and placing them in the city pound, according to report In thit city. Owners are allowed to get their animals after they pay the damaje done to property, by their dogs. Visits Camps Lieutenant George A. A. Jones of the Medford CCC head quarters, in a three day trip, visited Camps Elk creek, Upper Rogue River, Government Camp, Wineglass, Cllft Springs, Ingram, Bly, and Lake o' the Woods, where he reported the prog rams being carried out satisfactorily, and work progressing. Goes to Portland Miss Nan Tuck er, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nlon Tucker of Htllsboro, Calif., this morn ing accompanied Miss Kathleen Kamm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kamm of Portland to the . northern city, where she will be her guest for ten days. Mlas Kamm has been visiting Miss Tucker here at "Rogue's Roost." Will Holiday Here A. W. Mlddleton of San Franac'sco la expected to spend the Fourth of July holiday with Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Noblit. He plans to enjoy a fishing trip while here. Mr. Mlddleton has a special fondness for fishing southern Oregon lakes and streams and plans each year to spend an Important part of the summer here. - . Exams Tomorrow Ward McReyn olds, state examiner for operators and chauffeurs, conducted test here today at the city hall, and will also be here tomorrow from 8 a. m. to 5 p. m-, he announced today. 46 ENROLLED FOR Eighteen men, to be sent to the CCO camp at Elk creek, were enrolled today by the forest service through the aid of the Jackson county relief committee, and are to be sent to camp as Boon as physical examinations are given them. The enlistments today complete the quota for the forest service, and all men will be stationed in camp by tonight. Photographs and publicity mate rial of Medford whloh have been sent to magazines and newspapers during the last three months are beginning to bring results, It was announced at the Chamber of Com merce this morning. Pictures of the gold panning con test which were distributed from here about two months ago have been circularized through newspapers the past few weeks, and Mrs. Bessie McConochle, the winner, has received letters from old friends as a result of the publicity. A picture of Mrs. McConochle, published In the Los Angeles Times last week, was seen by a former acquaintance of hers and this morning she received a let ter from the lady. This Is but one of many instances where Mra. McConochle haa heard from old friends who have seen her picture In magazines and newspapers. The publicity department will keep up its militant campaign and as time 3oes on there is no doubt that considerable publicity for Medford will accrue. FROM PROM JOB SEATTLE.
