Photographs and publicity mate
rial of Medford whloh have been
sent to magazines and newspapers
during the last three months are
beginning to bring results, It was
announced at the Chamber of Com
merce this morning.
Pictures of the gold panning con
test which were distributed from
here about two months ago have
been circularized through newspapers
the past few weeks, and Mrs. Bessie
McConochle, the winner, has received
letters from old friends as a result
of the publicity. A picture of Mrs.
McConochle, published In the Los
Angeles Times last week, was seen
by a former acquaintance of hers
and this morning she received a let
ter from the lady.
This Is but one of many instances
where Mra. McConochle haa heard
from old friends who have seen her
picture In magazines and newspapers.
The publicity department will keep
up its militant campaign and as
time 3oes on there is no doubt that
considerable publicity for Medford
will accrue.

As far as Prlmo Is concerned, they
can bring on the challengers now.
He probably is the iM confident
champion who ever demanded the
big end of the gate.
"I fight Baer. I fight anybody. I
whip all of them. You'll see. Primo
Is champ."
He likes the latter phrase. It was
as though he had been saying It to
himself, over and over, for endless
days and nights and auddenly found
he could say It out loud. His happi

When or where the modern goliath

But It will be for Madison Square

one more fight under the corpora
