Balrd, pastor of the First Christian church, left early Saturday morning by motor for Fowler, Calif., where he waa called by the serious condition of his mother, wno suffered severe burns a few weeks ago. The pulpit at the Christian church will be filled by Reverend E. A. Oldenburg. Arretted for Overload State police arrested Art Boggs of Medford, E. E. Backes of Medford and L. L. Nichols and daughters Lois and Ma vis left Saturday morning for Iowa and Chicago, planning to spend the month of July in that section. Destroy Malt Deputy United States Marshel Cal C. Wella dumped four 12-gaiion kegs of Scotch malt at the federal building Friday afternoon, whloh had been stored In the vault since November 18, 1932. John son, Foots creek miners, were each given a thirty day lalt sentence, sus pended, when they appeared in Jus tice court Saturday morning on charges of petty larceny. The two men were arrested by state police, charged with stealing a number of articles from a drug store in Gold Hill Fri day night. An airplane beacon light 43S feet above sea level will be placed on tha new memorial ahaft being erected on the crest of Telegraph hill, San Fran cisco.
