Debates In North The men's and women's first debate teams of Al bany colege defeated two teams from Oregon Normal, March 6, debating on the war debt question. Clare Stewart of Albany and Helen Wilson of Med ford won a 2 to 1 decision In their contest, and Earl Horsell of Shedd and Fred Neal of Portland defeated their opponents, 3, to 0. IL TAKEN BY DEATH Ninnle E. Greene died at her home on South Central avenue this morn- tnir. at the age of 80 years. She naa resided here for the past 10 years, comlnz from Harrison, Arkansas, where her husband passed away 1917. During their long residence there, Mr. Greene was a leading busi ness man and bank president. Mrs. Greene waa a member or tne Episcopal ohurch and waa loved by all who came to know her. Faneral arrangements will be made and announced by Conger Funeral Pariors soon. Deceased leaves two sons, P. W. Greene of Medford and Oh as. M. of Salem. TO FINAL REST Funeral services were held today at the Perl Funeral home for Lemon C. Charley, southern Oregon pioneer, who passed away Sunday in his 77th year from heart failure. Johnstone, assistant to P. O. Denson, new proprietor of the Hotel Medford, has arrived and assumed hla position. Mr. Johnstone has been In the hotel business for many years, during which time he was connected with the Canadian Pacific Railway hotel system, also with California and Ha waiian hotels and resorts. The past few years he has been associated with Mr. Denson. Mr. Johnstone Bays he has always liked the Rogue River valley, has been particularly impressed with the metropolitan appearance of Medford and la glad to become associated with the business of the city. Little damage resulted from the blaze, which was soon under control. State police yesterday admitted j that In their search of the Banks, home they had found "plenty of evi dence," and that they had taken fingerprint from many articles In the Banks home. Several sets of fingerprints have been aent to the National Bureau of Identification at Washington, D. C, for confirmation, and the past records, if any. Since last fall a legend has been prevalent among adherents of Banks, that he wore money belts containing large sums of money. He had "a couple of dollars" In his possession when searched. At one of his cm. suit hearings, Banks flashed a small roll of bills, patted his chest sig nificantly, and aald: "There's more wheie theee came from." His boasted wealth has not materialized. Banks was fingerprinted and photographed yesterday, in the Josephine county Jail. The cafe-lounge car Is being i moved, and No. 8 will stop here 30 minutes for breakfast, according to the announcement. Those boarding the south bound train In the evening should have dinner before leaving. A diner will be attached for breakfast before reaching Ban Francisco the next morning.
