PTGfE TWELVE MEDFORD M2UJ TRIBUNE, MEDFORD, OREGON, ERTDiT.iFEBRiriRT.24,-1933.- Chorus in Craterian's "Follies" HUGE SLIDE OF ROCK CRUSHES' LIFE FROM AS SYKES CREEK MINER (Continues lroifl Page One) aspects of the Insull mees. There m Bo favoritism as between the Re publicans and Democrats. Both got off lightly. The British flip-flop wss responsi ble for the stronger action taken by the League of Nations against Japan. There are Increasing Indications In officialdom that Britain came around because the Chinese were threatening action sgslnst the large British hold ings In China. Some of our officials believe she also bad In mind the coming war debt negotiations with us. That P nears to be only partially true. The real reason was fear of what the Chi nese would do to British Investments ' Increasing quantities of Irate mall are pouring In on the senators from out In the country. Moat ox it ae mands action to end filibusters. It Is evident many of the scribes do not know what filibusters are but they are bitterly opposed to them. That Is why you have witnessed this re cent agitation to change the senate rules and hectic efforts to restore congressional prestige. - Added to that Is the fact that the Democrats realize they have too many wlldmen like Huey Long on their bands. They can see they are not going to be able to get their pro gram through next session unless thMv rhnnire the rules so thev can handle these boys. You will have an opportunity shortly to sea bow sincere the sena tors are about economy. - Mr. Hoover has called the usual special session of the senate at noon March 4. That must be done for con firmation of Mr. Roosevelt's cabinet. But the law gives each senator mile Age home and back for the special session. He may not even move out of his senate chair between the time the old session expires at noon and a moment later when the new session begins, but the law gives him mileage Just the same. A few days labor when Mr. Roose velt calls the special legislative ses sion they will get mileage again. That Is what Is known as gravy. The Old Fashioned Chorus from this seanon's R. K. O. Revue which was directed by Frank Hay ward, and which he will duplicate here In the Med ford Follies at the Craterlan next Wednesday and Thursday.
