Mrs. John Winders has been very 111 the past two weeks, suffering from a bad heart attack. Evans Valley school held It Wash-1 lng ton's birthday party Wednesday morning and at Its conclusion en joyed a holiday. Mr. Howe, father of Mrs. Rayworth and Mrs. Coop, suffered a severe fall Wednesday while going out to work. At first It was thought his leg was broken but upon axaminatlon it was found to be badly wrenched Evans Valley Extension cluh met Thursday in an ali-day meeting. Plans were completed for Washing ton's birthday dance. It was post poned until a later date owing to the death of Roy Rrubaker. Community was greatly shocked at the sudden death Tuesday of Roy Brubsker while at work. He was re spected In tfte community and was an honest and upright man. He was master of the Orange and was also drummer in the Wimer orchestra. He will be greatly missed and the sincere sympathy goes to the bereav ed family. For the past few wcekB Roy and his brother-in-law, Clyde Ranger, had been working placer mining on the Frank Jackson place up Sykea Creek. During the recent severe weather the ground became porous and wet. Ten feet of bank fell and It required several men to extricate him. Pleasant Placer company, under the management of Garrison, Peer ing and Engle of Seattle, is doing extensive improvement on the prop erty up Pleasant creek.
