Roadway Closed The Crater Lake national park announced today that the road to the lake was temporarily blocked, there being 16 Inches of snow In the park, and with rain fall ing at the present time. Motorists are being advised not to make the trip to the parti, by either the west or aouth entrance. PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 15, (AP) The bureau of Immigration here to day announmed that Malcolm Mac Klppo, Canadian, of Klamath Falls has been deported on a charge of having illegally entered the United States. He was arrested several weeks ago at Newport. ' MacKlllop entered legally and en gaged In the jewelry business at Klamath Palls. He then returned to Canada and brought his family and his brother's family Into the United States, using allegedly illegal meth oda of entering the country because of difficulty In getting the families through. The entire 'group went to Newport and all were taken Into custody. All except McKlllop were permitted to return to Canada without deporta tion proceedings. SHIPS RACE FOR U. SHORE LUNENBURG, tt. 6., Nov. 15. (JF) The Canadian press said today a doz en speedy motorshlps cleared south shore harbors over the week-end, bound for St. Pierre to load liquor for the United States. Their akippers carried Instructions to appear off New York next week end if possible. As an Inducement for speed they had the promise of a group of New York bootleggers of bonuses to themselves and members of their crews If the liquor were land ed In time to meet the Thanksgiving holiday demand. TALENT AUTOIST BUYS STATE TAG Norvell StocKstill, 32, Talent, was fined $5 and costs, and purchased an Oregon license yesterday afternoon, following a guilty plea In Ashland, before Justice L. A. Roberts, to a charge of operating an auto with im proper license plates. Sctockstill was alleged to have Journeyed to Wash ington state on a "drive out" permit, and to have returned a week later with' new Washington licenses. State police continued tociay to oheck the poll-books in the last elec tion, finding local voters with Cali fornia and Washington licensee. Medford principal, returned this afternoon from Portland, where negotlattona were completed for the Medford-Hood River contest on the local field next Saturday. With the ticket sales already mounting Into Important numbers. Mr. Smith's warning la expected to bring an even greater response from fans, who really like to see a hard game played. "All reports to the effect that Hood River has played only easy teams are Just fairy tales," Mr. Smith declared with emphasis. "They've been play ing some cracking good teams and their goal hasn't been crossed this year. I saw no less than 36 football authorities, who have watched the Hood River squad in several games and they describe the Apple Knockers' playing aa the highest quality foot ball the Columbia river section hss seen. It's going to be Medford's hardest gams. There s no doubt anouc that. I'm not forecasting the win ner." Asked about arrangementa for the game. Mr. Smith stated that every thing Is all set so far aa the playing of It la concerned. The protest filed by The Dalles regarding Swanaon will have no effect on Saturday'a combat, he explained, alnce Hood River will not be at all weakened if Swanson la taken out of the line. "If there is any question about It, he will be taken out. But that won't Interfere with Hood River's game," Mr. Smith declared. i 0. T. At the close of the concert. eager for further demonstration of the accomplishments of her pupils, the guest gathered around Mra. Wll lett with words of praise. His beauty of touch and unusual tones brought from the keys by It, was the subject of repeated favorable comment. Each young player contributed much to the evening's program, ex hibiting a thorough understanding of music highly complimentary to the Instructor, who gave an Informal sketch of each pupil's history In mu sic aa she Introduced her class. Several participants In the recital have studied music under Mra. Wtl lett for but a brief period, but each showed unusual progress. The program waa played on the New Baldwin Masterpiece grand, which also added to the tone quality of the compositions. The Piano Bhoppe was attractively arranged for the occasion by Mrs. H. O. COUNCIL TO TALK The city council will meet In regu- J lar session tonight at the city hall . for consideration of the budget for j the new year, recently completed b7 j the budget committee for presents- ! tlon and adoption. While drastic cuts have been made in salarlea of city employes and operating expenses I there will be little reduction In the budget total for the coming year. It Is understood, due to tax delinquen cies to be accounted for. The recommendations of the budget committee include a provision for a fund for emergency relief work, which will amount to about eaooo. This money will be expended to create work for the unemploved and no dole aystem will be encouraged by me city government. Following the presentation of the budget to the council tonight It will ba ready for publication.
