Before taking up the reg ular business the meeting was called to order and listened to a short talk from T. I. Deck on the freight truck and bus bill which Is on the Nov ember ballot. Mr. Deck gave a short history of this bill bringing out ths fact that the bill first came out known aa the highway protective bill but on orders of the state supreme court the name waa changed to the freight truck and bus bill because there was no protection of the highway offered by this bill. Figures were given on the taxes paid by the trucks showing that for the year July 1, 1931 to June 30, inaa, trucks paid a total tax to the state of Oregon of $3. 175,522.07.
