Iand is Available for these lioinen for private ownerahlp on the lower reaches of Rogue river, or for lease from the government in tho ('rater National foreHt in the upper reachea of Hugue river, all served by the Medford and Crater Lake highway by a hard finished road. Indications for thin yoar point to a large increase in tho number of these homes. The settlement and' colonization of these tracts nlong this highway for summer as well as winter homes will call for the construe- , tlon of several public reports, in addition to those already located on thla highway and river. This means more cabins for rental. automobile camp grounds, as well oh more elaborate hotels. On the lower Ilogue a co-opera tive form of ownership has been put into effect, whereby tho own er create asneHHtnents for im provements, Hueh as piping wnter, building roada and brldgea, an well Installing electric light and power llnea from the local com pany's line paralleling the Medford and (ra t er I ,n k o h Igh wa y. The summer traffic on tho high way has already resulted In estab lishment of stores, gas filling sta tions and other trading establish ments where all needed food nnd oher supplies may be purchaaed. The further development of the home building along this highway may eventually lead to the estab lishment of a regular bus lino 'on tho highway between tho upper Itogue and Medford. ThlH would relieve those on the route from the UNe of automobiles of their own in reaching tliia resort district. The present center of develop ment of resort homes and smalt ranches, which Is very noticeable, on the Medford nnd Crater Lake highway, lies between Kagle I'oint and Itogue river. The inducement for this settlement, which was for merly all wild hind. Is the advan tage of the Kagle, Point Irrigation ditch, affording Irrigation. This development is likewise noticeable on the Hutte Falls highway, which has a confluence with the .Medford a till fritter ake highway above Kagle Point nnd extends to Hutte Falls. This highway is hard -surfaced and practical throughout the year ns well as tho adjoining tracts are supplied with Irrigation water from the Kagle Point ditch.
