The Improvements on the road on the south side of the Rogue river near 'Prospect are progressing nicely, and every one hopes that thoy will be finished before the winter rains set In. Tho school bus Is now being driven by Sirs. Fred Uortz of Cascade Gorge who fs taking the place of Mlsa Lola Clarke. Lola Clarke is now working at Stewart Weeks' but will soon be buck on her 'Job of driving the school bus. Since so ''many logs have been trucked over the'-Red Rlnnket -road It's- corrugated like a 'washboard, it takes tho Red Blanket school bus ten to fifteen m in men of "banging" to get to Prospect' over this rough road. If it 1s ver'graded It will be a regular highway. .. Many hunters are going back to their homes as the hunting season has closed. It seems that the "old-timers" did not have as good luck in getting the bucks this season as the "Green horns" had. However a number of our residents have a fine fat buck to their credit. r - ; Tho Prospect high sciool basket ball team- will -have a new modern gynaslum to play 'their games in this year. The gymnasium Is now under construction and will be finished in plenty of time for practice' before the basketball seuson starts. The gymna sium will have an oak floor, shower baths and dressing rooms, and It will also be steam heated, ' Hallowe'en will soon be hero-wlth witches, cats, and pumpkins. Upon Saturday night, Oct. 31, a short snap py program will be - given by the Prospect -school; following which' a number of refreshment booths will be opened. Much amusement will be afforded by the old fortune telling witch. Meanwhile a dance -will also be In progress. The two new rooms, alKO a good basement and hentlng plant that were being built during vacation are com- pleted. The high school under Super intendent Cook and Mrs. Pearson have moved Into them and are' using one for general assembly and one for recitation. The pupils of the grade school under Mrs. Cook, are now oc cupying the old rooms. This is a i much Mftter arrangement over last year a At Js greatly appreciated by the pupils arft teachers. The people of Prospect and vicinity are glad to announce the organiza tion of a Sunday school ut Prpect on Oct. 11, by Rev. Amos. The fol lowing officers were elected:. Mr. t'ook, superintendent; Mrs. Pearson, vice-superintendent, und John Grieve, secret ury. Sunday school services will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 Sunday afternoons, following which will be a church service by Mrs. Young. Prospect is going to have another building. The new one Is being built jon Mrs. Pearsons property at the : Intersection of the Red Blanket roud and the Crater Luke highway. Work Is ttli-eiidy begun on the building by some of Mr. Gordon's carpenters and when the new gymnasium is finished it Is expected that he will put his whole crew to work on this building. The freshman Initiation of the Prospect hiKti nuhool wus held at the I wigwam at James Grieve's, Saturday I lo, 1U25 at 7 p. m. There were seven freshmen initiated. A few common tricks were .played on them. - Altho the stunts were' old, the frusnmen did not fail to bite.
