Mohs, the well known minim? man from Plucer county, California, whore lie has been operating for the past IS years, and the founder of tho fluid Dollar Mining company, a corporation - and still interested in several prop erties, V, II. Corblere, who operated in the state of Nevada a number of years and recently from Redding. California, have taken a bond and lease on the Black Channel mine from the Latimer Dexter Horton Na tional bank of Seattle. This property Is located on tho left hand fork of Foots creek. They nro v now busy preparing for the winter. Air. Moss has been here the past sum mer looking for dredging ground for a well known San Francisco com pany. Looking over a number of properties, he decided tho Black Chan nel property had morits. There are good properties on' both forks of Foots creek. " . Thoro is a day coming when the irancher will realizo more from their property through mining than they "will from farming providing they give the invostor a'ehanco. There arc now some very good look ing quartz properties on both forks. There aro now some Seattle people in stalling a mill on a property formerly owned by Dr. Ray. A letter received by Fred Brahfim from .Mr. Carr says that Leslie is in Hie hospital at Myrtle Point wilh both legs and a good fighting chance for his' life. Oct. 23 With the completion of tho apple picking and hay harvest farmers are turning their attention to the seeding of fall grain. ANTELOPE HEMS Apple picking has finished at the Stephenson orchard. They had very fine crop there this year. Mr. Bay and 'sons have finished plowing their place. The dance which was held In the packing house on tho Antelope or chard was reported to bo a great success. The Antelope school is going to put .on a program in tho form of a basket social on October 30th. The money derived from the sale of the baskets is to go to buy a phono graph for school purposes. John Owens is hauling gravel from Antelope creek to the siphon ou the high line ditch. Miss Allen and Mrs. Iilley of Mt. Vernon, Wushington. aro visiting at the home of Mrs. C. B. Allen. Fall seeding Is about finished in this district.
