J. Moser, the trial of .which case occupied the most of last week. The verdict of the jury awarded $12,100 to the plaintiff, McNair.. , Another jury was Immediately placed In. the box for the case' of Walter Lonnon versus John H. Klncaid, in which Lonnon is suing for $490 which lie claims he is entitled to for dam ages arising out of Kincnid having arrested hiin on July 9, 1924, on a charge of "willfully and maliciously setting fire to property not ills own." C- K. Pruess is attorney for the plain tiff, Lonnon. with W. T. Miller as counsel Tor Kincaid. . This morning at 9 o'clock the court passed sentence upon U. G. Puck, who was found guilty last week by a jury of the crime of possession of a still. . This session of the court here will probably continue for two more weeks, although the. jury cases will be com pleted by the end of this week. Judge Thomas will then return to Jackson county, where court will continue to August 1, to be followed by adjourn ment until September 1. W Price, who resigned as mem ber of the state game commission, left Tuesday for Ashland, lie is operat ing the lodge at Crater lake and the new l.ithla Spriugs hotel at Ashland. Mr. Price plans to open them both July 1. The first crew for the lake will leave tomorrow and there will he seven carloads ftf people, resident manager, chef, office force and what not. The crew for the new hotel at Ashland leaves Tuursduy. . The hotel at Ashland is .the result of the, desire, of the community to have a first-class, modern hotel. The site, waa selected lust summer and now. the building is completed, fur nished, and will be ready for business next week. The Litliia Springs hotel will cater largely to the motor tour ists. Practically all of the furnishings were bought ill Portland. There was a very heavy snowfall at Crater lake during the winter, but tho rouds are open and In a few days the resort will be In readiness. Crater lake, owing to Its elevation. Declaring that "many of our legisla tors will vote for anything they think will bring them votes," Mr. Darrow in his address said this was true of some senators and asserted "they voted for prohibition when they had liquor in their own possessison."
