In the opinion of E. C. Pcacher, forest ranger of Crater National forest, now on leave In Portland, add much to the popularity of the Lake of the Woods recreational reserve In Klamath county. Three public camp grounds are now open to tourists and already no cottages are there for summer res idents. Last season about TOO per sons visited the resort, which offers the advantages of fishing and boat ing beside an unusually Bcenic coun try form hiking trips. The Lake of the 'Woods is about 35 miles from Ashland and is one of the newer re creational districts opened up by the forest service. For : the promotion of sanitation and development pro jects in the area, the Recreational Association of Ashland has been formed.
