That a manifest In terest exists in dold Hill concerning Dr. Price's divine healing was evi denced by a sermon delivered by Dr. M, M. Reid, pastor of tiio M. K. church last Sunday evening which controverts a like sermon recently delivered by Uev. Leach of the Baptist church at Medford. Following are extracts of Dr. Ileid's aermon: ''Some seem to think that miracles nnd tho power to heal passed with the Apostolic age, and others do not. In order to get a logical solution of this question, let us first consider what a miracle Is. The dictionary says thut "II is a wonderful thing; a marvel; a deviation from the known laws of na ture." Now notice that It does not Bay . "a deviation from tho laws of nature, but from the known laws of nature. I have an Idea, that had Jesus proved to the marlnors of His day that the world was round, and by sailing west you could have arrived at an east ern port, or If ho could havo demon strated that the force of gravity In a mountain stream could be directed to light the world or move its commerce or have shown the marvels of a pres ent day radio, that the pooplo of that age would havo classed theso things us miraculous as healing tho body or calming tho sou. When tho Disciples were wondering at tho miracles of Jesus, Ho told them to "Marvel not for greater things than theso shall ye do for I must go to tho Father." Then He told them why Ho must go to tho Futher in order thut the Comforter, the Holy Spirit might como. And when he Is come he will ! load you Into all truth. Ho also told them "Ye shull know the truth and tho truth shall make you free." .Why then nro wo lliliu years after i theso promises still suffering from I ignorance, superstition, and dlseusa? Simply because wo have gone to tho wrong source for our wisdom, and more than that,, we have done all we could to quelch tho one who lias gone to the right source. I say discoverers In stead of originators for all truths are of divine origin. 'WoCL is Truth." We are triune beings. We have a physical, a mental and a spiritual body. The faculties of mind through which these are developed are instinct, intuition, and inspiration. Instinct is to the physical,- what Intuition Is to the mental, and what inspiration is to the spiritual. ' ( Upon tho development and cultiva tion of these faculties depends our progress and success In life. And yet tho ono who has the temerity to spon sor such idea Is dubbed a fool or crazy by the self constituted guardians of truth. Mind then the miracles of divine healing will be no more unexplalnalilo than the transfer ence of tho forco of gravity in tho waterfall to the electric light or the railway train. In fact all healing is Divine healing, or Is brought about by the operation of Divine law. Whether it is carrying a potato in the pocket to cure rheu matism, or taking a brcud pill for heart disease, or depending on n-High-er Tower to cure nerve exhaustion. In either case It is tho attitude of mind phicod townrd tho agency involved, which directs the universal life forces to do tho desired work.- And the result will be according to the faith, or tho attitude of the mind toward the re spectlvo agency. "Clod Is no respecter of persons." This is in accord .w human experience as well as the word of God. ' Clod through His laws honors the faith of man regardless of whether a man honors God in the imposition of iluit faith. I thltik that it Is about tlmo that we were honoring God with our faith as woll as looking to Him for that wis dom nnd truth which is to set us free When we shall havo done this, the blblo statement that, "The eyo hath not seen, nor tho car heard, neither hath It entered into tho heart of man the things God has prepared for them that wait upon Him'' will moan some thing to us, and tho healing of the body will only bo the stopping stone to those greater things which Christ said that wo should do. Brown stated that "those groups, especially in tho western stntcs, which through experience hnve learned tho folly of trying to advance the cause of tho workers through either of tho old parties," would be invltedto participate in tho national convention of tho farmer labor party. .
