DISORDER AS
CHARGES HURLED
BREMERTON', Wash., July 14.
The convention, of the Washington
. State Federation of Labor was
thrown Into 'disorder this afternoon
. when President William M. Short ac
cused delegates who had spoken In
favor of unit political affiliation with
the farmer-labor party with practic
ing "sabotage" and efforts at a "ger-
, rymander that might thwart the con-
ventlon's normal mind," by so delay
ing procedure that "many delegates
would leave for home, leaving the af
filiation group in control."
Fourteen speakers ' had expressed

A score of community centers were
laid waste and thousands of innocent
inhabitants were slaughtered ruthless
ly. : No foreigners, however, wore
killed.
The Klangsl outbreak in the unre
strained loosing of evil forces and the
wanton slaughter and destruction, Is
said to surpass anything of a like na
ture in the past decade. Between
10,000 and 15,000 men were involved.
The mutineers swept over the coun
try, looting, burning and killing, devas
tating towns and -rural communities
alike. The city of Klanfu was almost
entirely wiped out and many hundreds
of its Inhabitants slain. The lives of
upward of 100 foreign missionaries
were In peril,' but all escaped. The
principal centers destroyed were the
cities of Klanfu, Wananhslen. Lung-
chunn and Taiho, while upward of
twenty smaller communities were dam
aged or wiped out. ' '

CALLED 10 REWARD
It becomes our painful duty to chron
icle today the passing of Mrs. Orlena
Grigsby Edington, a greatly beloved
character, and pioneer resident of this
community and member of a family
that was closely connected with the
earliest history of Napa Valley.
Mrs. Edington breathed her last this
morning at seven o'clock at the late
residence on Pearl street, death result
ing from a complication of diseases
commonly attendant on advanced age.
Mrs. Edglngton had never been blessed'
with robust health. She entered a
decline about six weeks ago and failed
fast, her last days being filled with
great suffering. -
Mrs. Edglngton's death will Indeed
occasion! widespread regret, for to
meet her was to form an affection tor
her.
Deceased was born March 2, 1854,
on what was then the Occidental
ranch, eight miles north of this city.
Excepting three years, she had lived
her entire life in this valley. She was
the wife of the late Joseph B. Edington
to whom she was married tn 1893. No
children came to their union.
Deceased was a member of the Re
becca unit at Canyon City, Oregon.
A sister, Mrs. W. A. Trubody, of
Napa and these three brothers sur
vive: Robert Grigsby, of Calistoga;
Alfonso Grigsby, oJfSan Diego county;
James P. GrigsbyTt Sacramento. A
number. of nieces and nephews also
survive. Deceased was an aunt of
Lula M. Penland of Ashland.
The remains are now at the G. G.
Pinkham Funeral Parlors. The ar
rangements for the funeral have not
been completed. Napa (Cal.) Regis
ter.

the Tigers from losing their third in
four games to Philadelphia 9 to 4.
Heilmann now has sixteen cirCut
blows to his credit.

and an eight inning rally gave Cleve

SEATTLE MAN TO
JOIN LOCAL FIRM
Mr. Fred Erlckson, a well known
Seattle steam fitter, has recently
bought Mr. Tyo's halt interest in the
Modern Plumbing and Heating com
pany of this city. Mr. Erickson hav
ing closed the sale of his property
and home in the Meridian district,
will leave Seattle today and motor
to -Medford, accompanied by his fam
ily. He will stop over In Portland
for a few days for an opportunity tol
visit the various plumbing supply
houses of that city and expects to ar
rive here next week. ;
' During the war Mr. Erlckson was
foreman in charge of the Skinner &;
Eddy ship yard number one, a yard
that built 75 steel ships of 8400
tons during the time and won the
shipping board pennant when was
closed.
Mr. Williamson' and Mr. Erlckson
anticipate enlarging their present
location and stock of plumbing and
heating accessories to accommodate
summer and fall business. It Is
their aim . to . make the Modern
Plumbing & Heating company one of
the most complete establishments of

According to Mr. Williamson, the
