The corn acrease is somewhat lar- Eer this year than usual in this dis trict and was planted in Rood season with tho ground in excellent condi tion, so that an ample supply for ensiliiBO and feed will be assured. We aro pleased to state that Chas. Dunlap who underwent a serious op eration at tho Sacred Heart hospital Is making rapid strides toward a full recovery and will soon he ahle to re turn to his home. Our farmers have moved up their pay schedule another notch and ore now paying $3.00 and hoard. L. Fltzpatrlek in busy this week on a painting job in the vicinity of Tolo. A. I. Vincent who sold his farm in this district last fall has purchased a twenty-five acre farm south of Med ford on the Pacific highway. More than seventy-five acres of al falfa was seeded by our farmers this spring and at present promises a fine stand of vigorous plants in every plot. .1. F. Duggan of the Chaparral district was a business visitor in Table Itock the first of tho week. C. A. Pickison of Sherwood, who formerly resided here visited friends hero and in Medford last Sunday and Monday. Mr. Tlickison was returning from a business trip to Fresno, Oil., whero ho will probably buy property and locale permanently. The orioles and bee-martins have arrived and are busy tuning up thoir voices before beginning tho work of building their summer homes. A flock of strango birds to this region were noticed last week but soon disappeared, probably going on to their destination after a brlof rest. These birds were a littla smaller than the robin with a dark yellow body, 'white wings, with coal black feathers on tho lower edge, n head dark brown in color Willi a large while strlno over each ovo. and a Vihort blunt hill. K. P. Chandler of Itoguo Illver, who is making tho raco for county treasurer canvassed this district last Saturday. Mrs, .7. O. Johnson who died re cently at Pacific (1ovo, Cal., at one time resided with her husband and children In this community on what was then known as .1. O. Johnson's Table ltoek ranch, and now comprizes tho Wykoif, Collins, Chaso and Con nor ranches. Mrs. Johnson during her residence hero was known as a generous, wholo-hearlcil Christian lady who spent much of her time in tho upbuilding of the community and was hold In high esteem by her neighbors.
