Faber, prominent merchant of Central Point, has so In creased within the past few months that he has found it n6cessary to en large his store building here. A forty foot concrete extension has been added to the place which now makes it the largest grocery room in the city. Will Virgin of Stockton, California was among his friends In this city recently. Mr. Virgin, some twelve years ago, was a prominent Central Point business man, having been con. nccted with the Central Point mills, which property he still owns here. Miss Verda Lynch, popular young teacher of Central Point, has closed a very successful term in the Table Rock district and is now at her home here. Miss Barr, well known church wor ker of New York, spoke to an inter ested and appreciative audlonce at the Union church here Sunday morn ing. Her message, forceful and strong was very ably presented and many considered themselves very fortunate in having the opportunity to listen to so able and earnest a speaker. The field meet held here Friday was wall attended by representatives from Jacksonville, Talent, Gold Hill, Phoenix and Rogue River. The Bible Standard peoplo, who represent a new religious sect, have established a mission here in the building on Main street formerly oc cupied by Frank Hull, who for many years had what could be rightly called an old Cusiosity shop, where now the mission Is located. The ser vices thore Sunday were fairly well attended and thore was much enthu siasm manifested. The mission is in. charge of Rev. llornshu. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell 1 Grim and baby daughter loft Saturday evening for Corvallls whore they will make their future home. Mr. Grim has ac cepted a good position in Corvallls, and having been employed there be fore will not be a stranger either to his work or in the town. Tho many friends here of tho young peo ple wish them the greatest of success in their new home. I. F. Williams and family spent all of Ihe first of the week in moving to their new home recently purchased here. Mr. Williams bought tho pret ty home hero which formerly belong ed to Harry Lindsay. It is one of the most modern and beautiful little homes in the valley. The Gleason lunch room which was recently closed here has reop ened again under tho management of Mrs. Dora" Lynch.'" Mrs." Lynch Is well known In the community and Is known as a very capable woman en tirely capable of doing anything woll that she undertakes to do, and in ad dition to that she is an excellent cook. Central Point, and especially tho old patrons of the restaurant will be delighted to know that tho ser vices of so capable a person as Mrs. Lynch could be secured and that as long as she has charge of the place thore will bo the best of everything service Included. Central Point's only eating place should bo well pa tronized and all the support and en couragement possible should be given the new manager. C. A. Boles and family have moved from the Harry LlndFay place here which was recently sold, into tho Davisson place, which Is probably better known as tho former J. O. Isaacson home. Mrs. A. B. Chartraw of Gold Hill was a Central Point visitor recently. Mrs. V. A. Patrick and children loft by automobile for Idaho tho hit ter part of tho week. Mrs. Patrick will probably make Idaho her perma nent home. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Eldreth were Sunday guests at tho homo of the lat ter'B porents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Mclimsoy. Paxson has returned from a visit to the Oregon metropolis. Mr. Paxson attended tho Rexail conven tion held in tho Rose City the past week. Words fail mo when I try to tell the readers of The Mail Tribune of Ihe beautiful tulips, which Mrs. Graf- fes has urown this season. There are beds cvery-T''orc. and tulips of every known shade, and type. Mrs. draff os counted four thousand, four hundred and forty-seven blooms, while weed ing the beds. Sunday, there were visitors from Ashland, Medford, Phoenix and Till ent to see the flowers. Mrs. Grnffes knows the name of each kind of tulip and she never tires of showing her friends through her garden. The Furry home is anions? the oldest pioneer homes in the valley. Mri.. Present representative from Jack son and Douglass counties who is asking for re-nomination on the re publican tockct. Mr. Gore wns horn n this country and his record as a citizen and successful business man too well known all over Oregon to nocd any further comment. He has served two terms in the legislature, is one of the members who has the reim tation of knowing how to do things and of doing them. He was a mem ber of the good roads committco and member of the sub-committee that framed the present good roads legis- ation and has always been active in the councils of road work and of his party. Mr. Goro will do doubt be renominated and re-elected.
