That Section 4 of Or dinance No. 129 entitled "Air Ordin ance to establish a city board of health, to define the duties of the physician to be the health officer and to protect the public health and pre vent the spread of contagions and Infectious diseases in the- 01ty of .Medford, Oregon, approved July 6, 19071 shall 'be amended so asto read as follows; ; .'Sec. 4. The diseases which are dangerous: to the public health, and which shall he immediately reported to the city health olfkors are -hereby declared to be smallpox, chickenpox, bubonic plague, loprosy, diphtheria, membraneous croup, cholera, scarlet fever, measles, whooping cough, tu berculosis, typhoid fever and Spanish Influenza." : . Sec. 2. Inasmuch as there,ls an epidemic ot Spanish Influenza within the City of Modford and it is neces sary for the Immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the said City of Jledford that the provis ions of this ordinance become effec tive without delay In order to protect and safeguard the health of the peo ple ot the City of Jledford, , , NOW THEREFORE, . , By reason of the foregoing vfacts ail emergency is hereby declared to exist and.it Is necessary for the im mediate preservation of the peace, health and safety ot 4hls -city that this ordinance shall be in full force and effect Immediately from, nnn after its passage by the' city council and approval by the mayor.
