Instead of excavating and throwing away the old macadam road bed. which originally cost a considerable sum of money, this was utilized for tho base and rcdroscd with two inches of WAKRENJTE surface at a comparatively low cost. This method has proven fully as good as where the ojd base is removed and a now one substituted. WARRENITE surface for country roads is composed of the varying sizes of the best stone obtainable, and bituminous cement, having all the durability and stability required of a successful country road surface. Tho lower photograph shows the WAU'WKNTIMO construc tion on tho Tcrwilliger Iloulcvard, which has just been completed. Oregon is to be congratulated on getting a flying start toward first class country thoroughfares.
