Oregon State Police were unable to locate the tanker. 4:44 p.m. - A saddle was reported stolen from the Horse Plaza, 34287 Diagonal Road, Hermiston. 8:40 p.m. - Umatilla police were called to Crossroads Truck Stop, 2020 Highway 730, Umatilla, when a woman tried to pay for gas with a counterfeit $20 bill. The woman claimed she got the bill as change somewhere else. FRIDAY 11:14 a.m. - A resident of McConnell Lane, Hermiston, reported a man car- rying a bottle of Clorox and claiming to be selling vacuum cleaners came to her door. The caller said she told him to leave and he got into a Suburban with four other men. A resident of El Monte Street, Umatilla, reported the same or a similar man at 4:14 p.m. The Umatilla caller described the man as a white male with greasy brown hair and missing teeth, wearing a neutral-colored jacket and possibly associated with a gold SUV. Umatilla police were unable to find the man. 4:26 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a theft report for a Wii stolen from a residence on Cactus Drive, Hermiston. 8:40 p.m. - A resident of Klickitat Street, Umatilla, reported two men on his patio trying to get into the house through his sliding glass door. Marriages PUBLIC SAFETY LOG SUNDAY Midnight - A man reported he was almost run off the road at Sagebrush and Klaus roads, Hermiston, by a gold Ford F150, a gray car and an older white and blue Bronco. The caller said the vehicles headed toward the Chuckwagon Cafe on Highway 395 North. Umatilla County sheriff’s deputies were unable to find any of the suspect vehicles. 2:17 a.m. - A man riding a bicycle was verbally harassing a woman doing laundry at Umatilla Speedwash, 631 I Street, Umatilla. The woman called from Honey Bunnz Hideout, 1201 Sixth St., to request an officer ac- company her back to the laundromat to retrieve her clothes, as the man was still there. SATURDAY 3:01 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident at the intersection of Wilson Lane and Laurel Road, Boardman. A the Umatilla River Road/Interstate 82 overpass in Umatilla spotted a group of men near a homeless camp jumping out into the road and acting strangely. The caller said one man appeared to be bleeding, but he did not believe they needed medical attention. A Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy was unable to locate the men. 2:46 p.m. - A resident of Kiwi Court, Umatilla, reported to the Uma- tilla police that one of his vehicles had the license plate stolen and a plate to an unknown vehicle was in his yard. 4:31 p.m. - A woman with a bloody nose was reported throwing rocks through a window and yelling into a residence on Lorraine Avenue, Hermiston. ARREST, CITATIONS •The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richard Keith Fisler, 35, address not provided, for unautho- rized use of vehicle and on a felony failure to appear warrant. The CrisisManager smart- phone application provides everything from push noti¿- cations to maps of emergen- cy routes for ¿re drills. Mike Kay, director of operations for HSD, said three different levels of security clearance should allow parents, staff and emergency responders to receive the information they need in a crisis without com- promising any of the district’s security measures. “It’s just another step to provide as much accurate in- formation as quickly as possi- ble,” he said. For staff members or ¿rst responders with higher levels of clearance, the app also pro- vides more secure information such as passwords and maps of every utility shutoff valve in a school. Cortaberria said police, ¿re¿ghters and para- medics should be able to use their phones to pull up any information they need when responding to a crisis without having to track down someone from the district and ask.
