Pedro ob served the tenth anniversary of their wedding with a dinner at their home in Westlawn Saturday evening. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Simons of Hermiston and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spike of Echo. Echo Garden club held a month ly meeting Monday evening, Jan uary 22, at the home of Mrs. War- ren M. Center. A pot luck dinner was served at 7:30. Funeral services were held here Thursday forenoon for Mrs. Lillian Gillette, a pioneer of this neigh borhood. who died at Portland Monday. Mrs. Gillette’s death resulted from a paralytic stroke sustained earlier in January. Lillie Benedict was born May 22, 1874, at Perry coun- ty, Illinois. She came to Oregon with her parents when eight years old and resided in this vicinity since that time. On January 1, 1891, she was married to Walter B, Gillette, who died several years ago. Since 1927 she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Meda Adcook, in Portland. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Slita Owen and Mrs. Meda Adcook of Portland, and two brothers, William Benne- diet of Echo and Bert Benedict of Tacoma. Wash. There are two grandsons and one great grandson living. Mrs. Charles Hennig of Portland is here for a few days visit with her mother. Mrs. N. H. McFaul. Meyers, who suffered a slight stroke a week ago, was able io return home Wednesday but will be confined to the house for core time.
