Mrs. Gillette’s death resulted from
a paralytic stroke sustained earlier
in January. Lillie Benedict was
born May 22, 1874, at Perry coun-
ty, Illinois. She came to Oregon
with her parents when eight years
old and resided in this vicinity
since that time. On January 1,
1891, she was married to Walter B,
Gillette, who died several years
ago. Since 1927 she lived with her
daughter, Mrs. Meda Adcook, in
Portland.
Surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. Slita Owen and
Mrs. Meda Adcook of Portland,
and two brothers, William Benne-
diet of Echo and Bert Benedict of
Tacoma. Wash. There are two
grandsons and one great grandson
living.
Mrs. Charles Hennig of Portland
is here for a few days visit with
her mother. Mrs. N. H. McFaul.

Bruce Erwin was given at the
home of Mrs. Fred Burks Wednes
day afternoon. Those present werq

in service in the army.

slight stroke a week ago, was able
