Ordnance Nursery Schoo] Ordnance nursery opened May 9th, 1944. Children from Hermis ton. Ordnance, and Stanfield are enrolled, making a total of 53. Their training and care is under the competent supervision of trained teachers. Children from ages 2 to 9 inclusive are cared for. The schedule varies according to the age of the children with the older children receiving training in Art, Music and varied activities after school hours and on Satur day. The younger children are kept busy with games, stories and suitable kindergarten activities. All children receive well-plan ned and vitamin balanced meals as well as a mid-morning and mid afternoon lunch. A rest period is another advantage. Fifty cents per day takes care of one child. The nursery opens at 7:00 a. m. and closes at 5:00 p. m. Special hours are held when the Depot finds it necessary to hold employees for overtime jobs. All employees are encouraged to visit this school and bring their children for care while they work.
