Mrs. Lulu Roark of Los Angeles is visiting here at the home of her sis ter, Mrs. Charles Epperson. A recent letter from Staff Sgt. Maurice Caldwell to relatives here states that he is back in Australia af ter nine months on the New Guinea fighting front. Columbia people in Pendleton last Thursday to attend the tenth annual conference of the Oregon Farm Bu reau Federation were: A. H. Cable, H. J. Ott, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Reid, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Upham, Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Getchell, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Epperson. Mr. and Mrs. Everett P. Snyder and son of Stanfield were Sunday din ner guests at the Harvey Snyder home. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Easton and baby son Richard returned to their home at Boyd last Thursday after a ten day visit here at the home of her sister, Mrs. Bob Woodward. Mr. and Mrs. Olyn Hodge, opera tors of the Hermiston Dairy, complet ed a transaction Tuesday which added considerably to their stock by the purchase of the Fales dairy herd. Mrs. Mae Parsons came from The Dalles last week to spend several days with her son, Glenn Parsons and fam ily. She returned Sunday evening. Mrs. Harold Keller has returned home from the Hermiston Hospital. Bob Snyder, who planned to go to Portland this week for employment, is ill with pneumonia at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Cornelison officiating. He was mar ried to Miss Sophronia Rhea Novem ber 3, 1939, and they resided on the Bottger wheat farm east of Echo un til last year when they moved to the Warren wheat ranch on Birch Creek where he passed away November 15. Surviving besides Mrs. Isackson are his mother, Mrs. Edna Gibson, broth er Ralph isackson of Portland, and his father Charles Isackson of Brem erton. Miss Neva Hedrick had charge of the music. Pallbearers were Har vey Smith, Gilbert Smith, Carl Rhea, Harrv Peterson, Harry Andrews and Ray Tolar. Interment was in the Ec ho cemetery. Mrs. Emil Zivney, history, science and physical education teacher, is ill at her home this week. Mrs. Sherman Chapin was absent from the primary department last week for two days. Miss Patricia Richards, R.N., of Portland, came Monday morning to be with her mother, Mrs. Mable Rich ards this week. A nice line of books is on exhibit at the public library honoring child ren for Bookweek November 14 to November 20.
