A. W ork. Med ford, in ch arg e of snow surveys and irrig a tio n w a te r fo recasts fo r the Soil C onservation service and the O regon a g ric u ltu ra l experim ent s t a tion. About 15 per cent of the irrig a te d lands will experience v ario u s degrees o f sh o rtag e this y ear, w ith some 28 per cent expected to have a mild sh o rtag e which will p erm it the m a - , tu rin g of most crops. On about 17 per cent of the irrig a te d a re a of th e sta te , how ever, the sh o rtag e is e x pected to become critical. T hese percen tag e fig u re s a re based on records of irrig a te d lands by d is tric ts in the sta te e n g in ee r’s office j and a re not issued as being acc u ra te as to detail.
