Attractive prizes will be awarded to high score holders, and P R IC E S UP on POULTRY & EGGS BE WISE STOCK UP with “VIGORBILT” CHICKS Day Old and Started Hatches Mondays and Fridays persons attending all three of the parties will have a chance on a grand door prize. The grand prize will be on display Saturday evening. Checkers and other games will be provided for those who do not play cards. Refreshments will be served. The games will begin promptly at 8:15, and the public is invited to en joy a fine evening among friendly people. GRANGES HOLD JOINT MEETING Members of Stanfield and West- land Granges in a joint meeting at Hermiston conferred the first two degrees on a class of four candidates with members of both Granges tak ing part in the degree work. The candidates initiated were Bobby At- tebury, C. Tillery and Miss Gabriel of Stanfield, and Frank Caverhill of Westland. It was announced that at the next meeting a degree team from the Triangle YGA of Freewater would confer the third and fourth degrees, and it was voted to hold this meet ing Friday evening. April 25, instead of the regular meeting night of Thursday with the meeting to be held in the Odd Fellows hall, start ing at 8:30. Childs Barham of Columbia Grange was a visitor at the last meeting, which was well attended by members of both the sponsoring Granges. SCHOOL CALENDAR FULL OF EVENTS As is usually the case, the final months of a school year are crowded with activities. This is true in the local high school. The next week’s schedule runs something like this: Saturday, April 19, Miss Teresa Bresslin and four members of the Girls’ League will attend a confer ence at Lewiston, Idaho. Monday, April 21, the tennis team performs at Pendleton. Tuesday, April 22, Pendleton high school will present a program in the local audi torium.
