A farew ell reception was held in honor of the teachers F rid ay even ing, May 19. A sh o rt program was followed by refreshm ents a fte r which those who wished danced. George Corwin and fam ily will leave T hursday for a two weeks stay at th e beach. A 4-H club picnic was held on the school house law n Sunday afternoon. The clubs represented were H epp ner, Irrigon, Lexington and Board- man. The county agent, Mr. Con rad. was m aster of ceremonies. Miss Cowgill from Salem gave a sh o rt talk. T he Irrig o n high school band played several num bers. Games were enjoyed on th e lawn. Miss Ja n e t Gorham motored to P ortland on business. They are on an an nual Inspection trip through th e Pacific N orthw est. ” .<♦ T his is a required trip for all sen iors a t th e en gineering school, and m any points of in terest are visited, including Grand Coulee dam, Bonne ville dam, W ashington S tate H igh way D epartm ent, concrete m anufac tu rin g plants, paper mills, etc. These young men are under the supervision of Professor H arold R. K epner of th e U tah school, who is a nephew of Mrs. N. W. Bloom of Herm iston. T his trip Is of about two weeks duration, and the fellows w ill re tu rn to U tah on Ju n e 1, ju st in tim e for commencement.
