The State of Oregon used In the month of July 525,000 gallons of gas and oil which means at that rate Oregon pays out >18,000.000 a year for gas and oil. This is three times the amount of the wheat crop of Umatilla coun ty on an investment of millions of dollars. Why not put in >100 and help J. E. Leonard raise >30,000 and prove (hat we have oil at home and keep this >150,000 a day for gas and oi|- in Umatilla. We would not know what hard times were now. He subscribes >200 in cash to the oil well If we had a few more supporters like him we would soon be drilling but you know we have a few tight wads and wise guys who tell you there Is no oil here but won’t tell you how they know it. There should be some way to make them give up the secret. Now anyone who wants to see oil here subscribe >100 when J. E. Leonard comes around and make the Doubting Thomases ashlmed of themselves.
