MCSO apprehends car thief Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, November 14, 2018 -- FOUR Wheat growers elect president Jeffrey Scott Connors was apprehended by the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office after crashing a stolen black 1993 Honda Accord on I-84 at approx- imately 7:44 p.m. on Nov. 11. Deputy Oscar Madrigal observed the black Honda exiting the parking lot of Harvest Town Foods in Boardman. It was reported to be traveling at a high rate of speed, without its head and tail lights on and failed to stop at the stop sign at Kinkade Rd and Main Street. Deputy Madrigal at- tempted a traffic stop using his lights and siren when the vehicle began traveling toward I-84. The driver of the Honda failed to stop, turning west on I-84. This meeting will focus on Community Pride, one of the sub-com- mittees identified during the community meeting held in August. Community Pride specifically addresses employment, community, state and federal agencies’ services, education and the organization of job fairs in the community to promote local businesses and job opportunities. How to get state and federal agencies who offer services to com- munities to visit more often and have a presence in South Morrow County, how to support the schools with mentoring or volunteers and how to re-energize commu- nity pride by working with the faith based community will be discussed.
