Mur- ray’s will accept only painted pumpkins. If they are carved, they will be disqualified. En- tries will be displayed in the front windows of the store. A chili and baked potato dinner will start at 5:30 p.m., with carnival games from 6-7:30 p.m. There will be raffle prizes, a junk food walk, caramel apples and more. Heppner businesses will offer treats to costumed children that come by the stores, banks and of- fices. Thursday, Nov. 2 Co- lumbia Basin Electric Coop- erative, Inc. annual meeting at Isobel Edwards Hall in Fossil. Registration at 11:15 a.m., lunch will start at 12 p.m. The annual meeting and election of directors will follow lunch. There will be multiple door prizes and results of the 4 th grade Electrical Safety Poster contest will be announced, with winning entries on dis- play. Come out and hear author Rinker Buck who wrote the book “The Oregon Trail – A New American Journey” give a presentation with Q&A, book signing and refresh- ments to follow. Sponsored by Oregon Trail Library District and Friends of the Heppner Library. Saturday, Nov. 4 from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Navy Band Northwest Concert. Free con- cert for all ages, being held at the SAGE Center. Saturday, Nov. 4 through Saturday, Nov. 12, OHV Park to host special youth elk hunt, spike only. Applicants must be a Morrow or Grant County resident, have a valid hunt- ing license, current hunter’s education certificate or be participating in the mentored youth hunter program and be 12 to 17 years of age. All applications must be returned by Thursday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. to the Morrow County Public Works office in Lexington. Applicants will be selected by a draw and reviewed at Morrow County court. Pick up nomination forms at the Bank of Eastern Oregon, Heppner Chamber, Community Bank and the Post Office and submit the nominations forms for Man and Woman of the Year, Busi- ness of the Year, Youth Award, Citizen-Educator of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award. Monday, Nov. 20 – Thurs- day, Dec. 14, the Rewards Cards program starts for shop- ping local. Start collecting your rewards cards when you shop local at participating businesses. The denomina- tions are $10, $20 and $50 and cannot be given on payments to accounts. Bring your family and come out to spend a great evening on Thursday, Dec. 14 and spend your rewards cards on prizes that have been donated by local and out of town merchants.
