FOUR - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, October 21, 2015 Lady Cards carry winning momentum into districts Second annual pumpkin picking party this weekend The Lexington Grange will host its second annual pumpkin picking party and carnival this Sunday, Oct. 25, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Grange has added some new events this year; the activity lineup includes pony rides, carnival games, photos by Julie Baker, a costume contest, pump- kins and pumpkin painting, fresh-squeezed apple cider, candy and prizes. This year, the Grange is also raffling an adult fall- themed basket. A $5 entry fee covers a pumpkin, photo in cos- tume and a costume contest. Choral students from six schools will join together to make one large group, rehearse several songs, and will put on a concert for the public in the evening. The concert will take place at 6 p.m. in the Ione elementary gym. Ione Community School to host Scholastic Book Fair Ione Community School will host a Scholas- tic Book Fair on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 4-5, from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Ione elementary gym. Funds raised will help pur- chase books for the school library, classroom libraries, children, etc. Families, fac- ulty and the community are invited to attend this read- ing event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers. The book fair offers specially-priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases, adult bestsellers and other great reads from dozens of publishers. Book fair customers may help the school build classroom li- braries by purchasing books through the Classroom Wish List program.
