Hie baby weighed 6 lbs, 8 oz. and measured 20 inches long. Great- grandparents are Helen Hawkins, Pendleton, and Mary Beamer, Heppner. Beginning golf class planned A beginning golf class is planned for this spring at the Willow Creek Country Club in Heppner. The class, for people w ith lim ited or no prior golfing experience, will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning April 1. The class w ill cover the basics o f play, rules and etiquette o f the game, among other details o f the game. The class is limited to eight students per session and registration will be on a first-com e, first-served basis. C ost is $30 for the series o f six 1-1/2 hour lessons, w hich includes a tem porary m em bership in Willow Creek Country Club for non-members and provides unlimited practice play for the duration o f the classes. A half-price m e m b e r s h i p w ill be p r o v id e d fo r s tu d e n ts who were not previously m em bers. The class fee will be waived for regular members o f Willow Creek Country Club. E ach s tu d e n t m u st have a basic set o f clubs, including a putter, 5, 7 and 9 irons, and a wood. Balls and tees will be provided by the class. John E dm u n d so n is instructor. W hile w o rk in g as a waitress in Mesa Café, she met a young farmer by the name o f Paul H. Taylor. After some courtship, they m arried on F ebruary 1, 1965 in St. Mary’s, ID. Paul and Rae raised th e ir c h ild re n on th e ir farm outside o f Lexington, retiring to a life o f golf and leisure in U m atilla. Rae enjoyed the warm weather, spending the w inters in Y um a, A Z d u rin g h e r retirement years. She was an avid golfer, always had a craft project g o in g on, and e n jo y e d playing B unko and g o lf with her friends.
