Morrow C o u n ty C le r k B o b b i C hilders says all ballots will go out by Wednesday, April 30. Ballots may be returned by mail, or dropped off at the county clerk’s office or any o f se v era l drop locations throughout the county. More information on drop times and locations will be announced closer to the primary date. Forest draft plans released for public comment Malheur, Umatilla and Wallowa-Whitman national forests have announced the re le a se o f the Blue Mountains National Forest P roposed R evised Land M anagem ent Plan (also known as the Forest Plan) a n d a s s o c i a te d D r a ft E n v iro n m e n ta l Im p a c t Statement (DEIS). Plan are available for anyone to read, review and submit com m ents during a 90-day comment period that began March 14. The Blue M ountains National Forests consist of 4.9 million acres ofNational F o re s t S y s te m ( N F S ) lands within the Wallowa- W hitm an, U m atilla, and Malheur National Forests. Com m ents which are most meaningful and will be o f the greatest help are those c o m m e n ts w hich address strategic direction for m an ag em en t o f the national forest, or what the Forests should look like or provide for in the future Community members and visitors alike turned out in force for the 32nd annual Wee Bit O’ Ireland celebration in Heppner. The weekend lured party-goers with some of the best St. Pat's weather on record for the town, adding to the festive feel of the event. Irrigon plans special assembly County names March 8 ‘Irrigon Knight Day ' A special presentation and assem bly is planned at Irrigon High School on Thursday, March 20, at 2 p.m. in the gymnasium. This presentation will include a Morrow County Com m issioner presenting to the school and the team a resolution,making March 8 “Irrigon Knight Day” in all o f Morrow County. Willow Creek Symphony to perform in Irrigon Inland N orthwest M u s i c i a n s p r e s e n ts in c o n c e rt Wi l l o w C r e e k Symphony Saturday, March 22, at 7 p.m. at A.C. Houghton Elementary School, 1105 N. Main Ave. Irrigon. The program will include Procession o f the Sardar by M. Ippolitov- I va nov, S a m b a r i n a by Jay W ilbur, Eine Kleine N a c h t m u s i k by W. A. M ozart and Relay Race ( Pe r p e t u a l Mo t i o n ) by Robert H. Rimer. Willow Creek Sym phony rehearses on Tuesday evenings at Irrigon, Jr.-Sr. High School. Some instrum ental sections are supplem ented by players from the Inland Northwest O rch estra. M aestro Lee Friese o f Athena is director and conductor and Ralph Werner o f Herrn iston is the associate director o f the all-volunteer Willow Creek Symphony.
