Heppner G azette-Tim es, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, August 1 ,2 0 1 2 Moon to perform at Music in the Parks Country singer Cale Moon will perform at Mu sic in the Parks in the Irri- gon Marina Park on August 6 at 7 p.m. Moon is a 17-year-old country singer/songwriter, a country boy whose voice is “as deep and rich as the 100+ songs that he has written.” In 2009, he was chosen to be on Team USA for the World Championships of Performing Arts, in which more than 30 countries competed. He was awarded 14 medals (seven gold, five silver and two bronze), two All-Around plaques, and the glass star for Junior Grand Champion Actor of the World. In 2010, he was given the opportunity of a lifetime to co-write with renowned song writers Steve Dorff and Bobby Tomberlin on Moon's original song, titled “A Country Song,” which is on his first CD “The Begin ning,” available for sale at CaleMoon.com. In October 2011, Moon recorded his second CD with Fred Vale at Treasure Isle Recorders in Nashville. While in Nashville re cording. Moon was given the opportunity to sing two of his original songs for the Nashville Cowboy Church service. Moon also has been featured on the Good Morn ing Northwest program on K.VEW TV several times, as well as live radio for 102.7 K.ORD in Kennewick, WA; several other regional radio programs and ¡Heart radio’s “Discover & Uncover" pro gram nationwide. In 2011, Moon was program and has performed honored to receive the Peo for multiple benefit con ple’s Choice Award at the certs with Ed Dailey. He has Columbia River Cowboy performed for numerous G athering, and won the city and county fairs, pa Muddy Frog Water Festi rades, events and fundrais ers,, including the val Talent Show. Boys are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, Au gust 8, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.; girls will be seen on Tuesday afternoon, August 14. from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. If a student is unable to come on the day designated for boys or girls, they can be seen on the other sport phy sical day.
