EIGHT - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, September 14,2011 CITY COUNCIL Over the Tee Cup “ C ontinued form page O N E In other housing business, Buschke said the heat pump at the apartments needs to be replaced at a cost o f $20,800, and she asked the council to use part o f the funds from the sale of the HUD house on Court St. to pay for the unit. “ We are request ing that the council consider using the profit realized from the sale o f the HUD house to fund this p ro j ect,” she said in a letter to the council. “The Senior Center’s share o f this cost is $4,576 and would leave $16,224 for the Heppner Housing A uthority cost.” The city received $18,229 net profit from the HUD house sale. The council took no action but some council members questioned if the city should ask the commu nity for other possible uses o f the money. The council took no action. T he c o u n c il also received the Sheriff’s Report for August. T r a ffic : T h e re w ere six tra f fic s to p s, resulting in five warnings and one citation. One juvenile was warned for not wearing a helmet. A hit and run crash was reported. The suspect driv er was located by a deputy. A deputy received a report o f a person parking on Main Street for a week at a time. The owner o f the vehicle was contacted. A deputy received a report o f a vehicle parked, partially blocking a road. The deputy made contact with the owner, who moved the vehicle. The owner was contacted and retrieved the cattle. A report o f people hollering on M ain Street w as r e c e iv e d , and the caller was trying to sleep. A deputy was not able to locate anyone. L oud m usic w as reported coming from the area o f the pool. A deputy m ade contact with some people and they turned the music down. Five code e n fo rc e m e n t calls w ere g e n e r a t e d , r e g a r d in g g a rb a g e , an d ju n k vehicles. Two barking dog complaints were received. One found cat was turned over to MCSO. Seven loose dogs were reported. Theft Complaints: A deputy investigated a non-sufficient fund check case. MCSO received a report o f fireworks being lit by juveniles. A deputy responded and was unable to locate the juveniles. Deputies responded to a fight in Bucknum’s. The suspects were contacted and the situation was resolved. Deputies responded to a false alarm at a two l o c a t io n s . B o th w e re determined to be employee error. A deputy located a parked vehicle with its lights on. The Willow Creek Country Club Ladies Club Championship/Eddi Skow Tournament was held Sep tem ber 6 and 7. He is being lodged at the Umatilla County Jail with a $50,000 bail. -MCSO was advised from a woman in lone that a deer that had been living around her yard was now dead and its w hole back end was missing. -MCSO issued a citation to Ramon Reyes Valenzuela, 47, for failing to obey a traffic control device. -M CSO issued a citation to Russell T. Sims, 58, for failing to obey a traffic control device. -MCSO received a report from a woman in Irrigon who says her neighbor's horses are being neglected. The hooves are overgrown and cracked. -M C SO rec e iv e d a call from a woman in Boardman that said her neighbors dogs will not stop barking. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a com plaint from a man in Irrigon that a white car and a black have been speeding on his street and that this is not the first time it has happened. -MCSO received a report from a woman in Irrigon that a man was trespassing in her driveway. -M C SO rec e iv e d a call from a man in Irrigon that a male had tried to run his son over while he was riding his bike. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Boardman that four males were fighting and one o f the subjects was on the ground. It was unknown if any weapons were involved. -MCSO received a call from a man in Boardman who said there was a suspicious vehicle parked in the ditch near the orchard. -M C SO rec e iv e d a call from a man in Irrigon that a yellow lab had ran out and bit a little girl on the ankle causing an altercation b e tw e e n tw o p a r t i e s . Subject was cited for dog as a public nuisance. -MCSO received a call from a man in Irrigon that said he was having problems with his landlord and would like a deputy to make contact with him. -MCSO received a call from a man in Irrigon saying that he had found two dogs. One was a dark colored pit bull and the other a black lab. Both had collars on but no tags. -MCSO received a report from a woman in Boardman who says that she and her friend and their kids were at the park. When the caller tried to use the restroom she was told by a man that she needed to leave. -MCSO received a report about a minor with possible heat stroke. -M CSO issued a citation to a minor for no operators license and no insurance. -MCSO arrested Antonio Fernandez Frias, 20, for Assualt I after a caller in B oardm an rep o rted that four males were fighting and o f o f the subjects was on the ground. -MCSO received a call from a woman in Boardman who said her, her brother and his girlfriend had gotten into a verbal altercation. There was no alcohol or weapons involved. June 28: Morrow County S h e riffs O ffice issued a citation to Eduardo Venegas, 18, for violating the speed limit o f 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. -MCSO received a report from a fem ale c a lle r in Irrigon who wanted contact regarding her stepson and h is s te p fa th e r. C a lle r reports that the father has been verbally harassing his stepson and has tried to run him off the road when he was riding his bike. -M CSO arrested Deym a L o u ise C a n tu , 21, fo r C o n tem p t o f C ourt and F ailin g to C om ply w ith Diversion. -MCSO received a caller from a female in Boardman who said that a piece o f asphalt flew o ff a truck and hit their w indshield, breaking it. -MCSO issued a citation to Thomas Matias Elguezabal, 19, for doing 85mph in a 55mph speed zone. -MCSO received a report from a m an in Irrig o n about lots o f traffic and loud music coming from a rental house. -MCSO received a report from a man in Boardman w ho said th e re w ere 3 juveniles riding a 3-wheeler and a m otorcycle on the road.
