SIX - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, March 30,2011 Morrow County Court weekly meeting held The Morrow Coun ty Court met on March 16 in Boardman with Judge Tallman and Commission ers Grieb and Rea in at tendance. Following is a summary of the meetings provided by Leann Rea. The court reviewed and approved the account payables in the net total amount of $ 181,364.49. Road Report Ditch Cleaning: The crew has finished clean ing the ditches in the Board- man area. Road Grading: The crew is continuing with grading the gravel roads around the county as the weather permits. Cur rently there are two graders working in the McElligott Road, Blackhorse Can yon, and Nolan Road ar eas. Crusher: The crusher crew is finishing setting up the crusher. They should have it all set up and start crushing rock on March 21. Lexington Grange/Base- line Lane: This week the crew moved equipment and materials to the Intersec tion of Lexington Grange Road/ Baseline Lane. They started working on laying pipe to drain water from the intersection, as well as reconstructed the Lexington Grange Road part of the project. The grade will be raised and a culvert will be added to alleviate the water issue. Mise: The forklift training for the General Maintenance, Parks, and Road crews was completed last week. Four members of the paving crew attended a one day class on paving techniques last Thursday. A lot of good information was provided at the paving class. Public Hearing The court contin ued the hearing for the Appeal o f the Planning Commissions decision re garding Conditional Use Permit CUP-N-287 for the addition of a pistol and riñe range at the current location of the Hermiston Gun Club located just north of 1-84 and west of the Army De pot Exit. Harvey Childers, applicant and Patty Car- son, Hermiston Gun Club secretary provided reports regarding the configura tion of other gun ranges in the area. Doug Hojem representing Wade Aylett and Rock Solid Sand and Gravel, LLC provided tes timony in opposition of the proposed change in use to the gun club. Bill Milbrodt, Umatilla Chemical Depot Counsel stated that the U.S. Oregon East Symphony winding up anniversary season Oregon East Sym phony will wind up their 25,h anniversary season with concerts April 3, 17, and 30. A String Spectacu lar will be held on April 3 in the Vert Auditorium at 3:15 p.m. A Sharp Finale, a free concert, will be held on Sunday, April 17, at 3:15 pm in the Bob Clapp Theatre (Pioneer), at Blue Mountain Community Col lege. Red, Hot and Blue will be held on Saturday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bob Clapp Theatre (Pioneer), at Blue Mountain Community College. Tickets for the April 3 and April 30 concerts can be purchased at the OES Office (345 SW 4th Street, 1-5 pm) at 541-276-0320, at Armchair Books (39 S W Dorian Ave, Pendleton) and at the door. Both concerts are included on the Season Ticket Membership. Tickets are $16/20 (floor/balcony) for adults, $13/517 seniors and $3/$5 for students over 13. Children 12 and under are free. After some questions and delib eration the court overturned the Planning Commission’s decision and upheld the ap pellants request to deny the pistol and rifle range at the Gun Club site. The court conduct ed the following business: The court discussed the proposed budget for the court for the 2011 -2012 fis cal year and all agreed that the judge and commission ers would not be requesting any increase in their pay for the upcoming year. The court approved a youth tur key hunt at the OHV Park. The court heard a status report from Kristi Pardue and Lynette Berriochoa representing Idaho Power regarding the Boardman to Hemmingway (B2H) Transmission Line.
