The deadline for applications is Tuesday, April 15. M e d Q u e s t is a week-long residential camp held June 20-24 on the campus of Eastern Oregon University in La Grande. Students will explore health career opportunities through various activities, includ ing medical facility tours, health profession panels and presentations, medical training and individualized jo b shadow ing. M edical school surveys in d icate health care professionals who grew up in a rural com munity are more likely to choose a rural practice than those who have no ties to a rural community. City offering free tire disposal has released the following report: -D o u g la s C a rte r R obertson, 40, was con victed of: P ossession o f Methamphetamine, a C lass C felony, and was sentenced to six m onths d riv e r’s license su sp en sion, 18 months supervised probation, 90 sanction units with 30 jail units, complete 40 hours o f com m unity service, other conditions, and pay $728 in fines, fees, and assessments; Failure to Report as a Sex Offender, a Class C felony, and was se n te n c e d to tw o y ears supervised probation, 180 sanction units with 90 jail units, complete 40 hours of comm unity service, other conditions, and pay $1,228 in fines, fees, and assess- Class C felony, and was se n te n c ed to tw o y ears supervised probation, 180 sanction units with 90 jail units, complete 40 hours of community service, other conditions, and pay $1,228 in fines, fees, and assess ments. -Dillon Joseph Dil- ley, 21, was convicted of Robbery in the Second De gree, a Class B felony, and was sentenced to 70 months incarceration, three years post prison supervision, and other conditions. Dilley was also convicted of Unlawful Use o f a Weapon, a Class C felony, and was sentenced to 18 months incarceration and other conditions. Total fines, fees, and assessments are $2,731. Baseball players between the ages of 13-15 inter ested in playing Babe Ruth Baseball this season should contact Rick Johnston at 541-676-5562 before April 15. Heppner Garden Club to hold monthly meeting The public is also invited to attend the monthly meeting o f the Heppner Garden Club on Tuesday, April 5, in the Senior Center at 7 p.m. A 20 minute video on using driftwood in flower arrangement will be shown prior to the business meeting. Holly Rebekah Lodge to host monthly card party Holly Rebekah Lodge will be hosting their monthly card party on Saturday, April 2. Both pinochle and canasta will be played. The cost is $6 per person and is open to the public. Sandwiches, chips and pickles will be provided throughout the evening. Play will start at 7 p.m. For transportation, check at the Senior Center. St. Pat’s wrap-up meeting Ecumenical youth group makes donation to Methodist Church planned for April 13 St. Patrick’s “Wee Bit O ’ Ireland” wrap-up meet ing will be held on Wednesday, April 13, starting at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Plans for next year’s celebration as well as fundraisers will be discussed. The City of Heppner is offering free tire disposal for city residents through April 17. Residents will be able to take old tire they no longer want to the bin at the Public Works yard located at Riverside Avenue and Jenkins Street. Tires with wheels will be accepted. This is a one time offer. It is being sponsored by the City, City Public Works, Morrow County Sheriff's Office, and Waste Connections at Finley Butte.
