Irrigon and Board- man students in grades K-12 are the performers. The Saturday matinee per formance is at 3:30 p.m., and evening performance at 5:30 p.m. Just how is Beauty Lou different from the clas sical fairy tale? Missoula Theater western adaptations of classic stories are always hilarious. Beauty Lou is the oldest daughter of the B ronc-bustin’ balladeer Buck. A young Beauty Lou is upset by the behavior of a miner who has won the blue ribbon for his beauti ful roses at the county fair. She calls him a beast and wishes he would look like one too. Years later, when in danger of losing the fam ily farm. Buck meets the miner-tumed-beast. Beauty Lou has to befriend the Beast in order to save her family. Beauty Lou and the Beast both learn to look be yond appearances and first impressions and to see the beauty that dwells inside. The story, set in the American West, also features Beauty Lou’s six sisters, an imaginary friend, her dog Fleabite, farmhands Slim and Dusty, neighborly Country Folk and Barnyard Critters. Beauty Lou and the Country Beast was conceived and written by Jim Caron, and Michael McGill, the same talented duo that created Wiz of the West in 2008. Tickets, available at the door, are $2 for adults and $1 for youth. Doors will close five minutes before show times: 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Newi Listing!
