The Cards hung tough in a close loss to Pilot Rock but collected wins against Culver and Irrigon. Playing in Pilot Rock on Tuesday, Decem ber 21, the Lady Cards seemed determined to not let the favored Rockets get away. The t. ams swapped buckets in the early going but Pilot Rock built a six point lead, 14-8, midway through the first quarter. The ODFW invites anglers to open house in Salem Jan. 4 O regon an g lers will have a chance to share their ideas, comments and concerns about the state’s fisheries with top ODFW manage^, at an open house on Jan. 4 in Salem. The meeting will go from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the ODFW Headquarters, 3406 Cherry Ave. NE, Sa lem. The agenda will be set, in large part, by the ques tions and concerns raised during the meeting. “This open house meeting is a good way to start the new year,” said Rhine Messmer, ODFW R ecreatio n al F ish eries Program manager. “It’s a chance for us to hear what issues are on the minds of anglers so we can take ap propriate action. The meeting is be ing held in conjunction with a meeting o f the Inland Sports Fishing Advisory Committee, which provides public perspectives and input on implementation of ODFW’s 25-Year Angling Enhancement Plan. The plan is available on the ODFW website at http:// w ww.dfw. state, or. us/re- sources/fishing/docs/25 Year R ecreational An- gling_Enhancem ent% 20 Plan.pdf. Twice a year the fishing advisory commit tee meetings are open to the public as a forum for r interested anglers to bring their fishery management issues, thoughts and ideas to ODFW fishery managers and administrators. In addition to the open-forum, ODFW staff will provide an update on changes to the public pro cess for developing new angling regulations. The department is looking for ways to improve the public process and still retain its value to the public and the department. “We’ve heard from the public and from the Fish and Wildlife Commission that the current process is too cum bersom e and too much time is spent on proposed regulations that would never be adopted,” Messmer said. “We are interested in hearing what anglers think of some of the key changes w e're proposing to the process,” he added. “The public plays an im portant role in the develop ment of our fishing regula tions and we want to ensure that we don’t diminish the public benefits from this process.” Revisions o f the public process are under way, and will be adopted by the Fish and Wildlife Commission next August. The revised process will be used for the development of the 2013 Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------^ Attention: MEDICARE PART D PATIENTS: Nov. 15-Dec. 31 st is the time to Re-evaluate, Renew, or change your Medicare Rx Plan! The kids controlled the rebound ing through the rest of the first half and that allowed us to go into halftime with a comfortable lead. Second half was played with very little emotion from either team and we were able to play some different rota tions and work on some of our set plays.” The Lady Cardi nals will finish their vaca tion schedule hosting Pilot Rock on Wednesday and traveling to Riverside on Thursday. 2010-11 Cardinal Basketball Schedule Dec. 29 - Pilot Rock at home, 1 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Dec. 30 - at Riverside, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Jan. 7 - at Nixyaawii, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Jan. 8 - Arlington at home, 2:30 p.m. (BJV, GV, BV) Jan. 11 - Irrigon at home, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Jan. 14 - at Condon, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Jan. 15 - Sherman at home, 1 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Jan. 21 - Echo at home, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Jan. 28 - Nixyaawii at home, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Jan. 29 - at South Wasco, 1 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Feb. 1 - Condon/Wheeler at home, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Feb. 4 - at Echo, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Feb. 5 - at Central Christian, 1 p.m. (GV, BV) Feb. 11 - at Helix, 3 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Feb. 12 - Dufur at home, 1 p.m. (GJV, BJV, GV, BV) Feb. 17-19 - District Tournament in Umatilla HHS Boys’ Basketball Schedule Dec. 29 - Christmas tournament, 1 p.m. Jan. 4 - Tri Cities Prep at home, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 7 - at Stanfield, 7:30 p.m. « Jan. 8 - Irrigon at home, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 14 - Pilot Rock at home, 7 p.m. Jan. 15 - at Weston-McEwen, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 21 - Enterprise at home, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22 - Elgin at home, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 28 - at Pilot Rock, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29 - Weston-McEwen at home, 5:30 p.m. Feb. 4 - at Enterprise, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 5 - at Union, 5:30 p.m. Feb. 11 - at Irrigon, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 - Stanfield at home, 5:30 p.m. HHS Girls’ Basketball Schedule Dec. 29 - Christmas tournament, 1 p.m. Jan. 4 - Tri Cities Prep at home, 3 p.m. Jan. 7 - at Stanfield, 3 p.m. Jan. 8 - Irrigon at home, 1 p.m. Jan. 14 - Pilot Rock at home, 3 p.m. Jan. 15 - at Weston-McEwen, 4 p.m. Jan. 21 - Enterprise at home, 6 p.m. Jan. 22 - Elgin at home, 4 p.m. Jan. 28 - at Pilot Rock, 6 p.m. Jan. 29 - Weston-McEwen at home, 4 p.m. Feb. 4 - at Enterprise, 6 p.m. Feb. 5 - at Union, 4 p.m. Feb. 11 - at Irrigon, 6 p.m. Feb. 12 - Stanfield at home, 4 p.m. Heppner Jr. High Boys’ Basketball Schedule Jan. 7 - lone at Heppner, TBA • Jan. 8 - at Dufur (A team only), 9 a.m. — M orrow C ounty T r a n sf e r S tations .
