A total o f 603 students earned straight-A (4.0). An other 2,757 earned a B-plus (3.5) or better to make the listing. Effective July 7, 2009, the Fire Chief of the City of Heppner is imposing a C L O S E D S E A S O N for open burning based on local fire safety concerns. Kids were able to hear about the history of the flag and then the American Legion showed them how to properly dispose o f a flag. Afterwards the prizes for Youth Night were given out. While everyone won a prize, some kids won mul tiple prizes. A s e p a r a te gun raffle was held and Jorden Sw eeney was the lucky winner o f a single gun with interchangeable barrels in .243 caliber, .22 caliber, and .410 shotgun. This was an annual event hosted by Heppner Elks Lodge #358. Sheriff's Report rigon. She was currently at the Irrigon Fire Hall. MCSO and Irrigon Ambu lance responded and she was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital. -M CSO received report from an Irrigon sub ject that her ex-sister-in-law drives by her home, peels out and honks her horn. -M CSO received report from a Heppner sub ject that she saw headlights on the property on the hill beside her home and no one should be there. MCSO was unable to locate any vehicle. -M CSO received report from an Irrigon sub ject that someone had just stolen their truck from their drivew ay. A fter a short pursuit, the vehicle was ditched and two suspects fled on foot. -Boardman Police Department received report that two bikes were stolen from the complainant, one from their porch and one from their yard. -BPD cited a juve nile subject for Assault III and Disorderly Conduct II. The juvenile was released to his parents. -BPD received re port from subjects who had a seven-w eek-old border collie mix, but they couldn’t keep it. The dog was to be transported the next day. -BPD received re port that a subject was driv ing intoxicated southbound on Main St. in Boardman. The anonymous caller said he did not see the subject drink, but advised that the suspect is always intoxi cated at night. -Irrig o n A m b u lance received report o f an elderly male having dif The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office reports han dling the following business: M a rc h 22 co nt.: -MCSO received report that a male subject made threats to kill another male in Ir rigon. The caller said that the threats were not idle, but rather the subject was extrem ely upset with his eyes bulging and his fists clenched. The threats were co n cerning w ater rights on one subject’s property. Upon investigation MCSO determined that there was no death threat made and no calls made and the issue was a civil matter. -M C SO received report o f a subject on a b ro w n H o n d a a ro u n d Blakes Ranch almost hit the com plainant. The m other said she would keep an eye on the subjects. -M C SO received report of a Chihuahua out o f the fence in Irrigon. It was believed to be the same animal reported earlier. -M C SO received report o f three horses out on Hwy. 74, Heppner. A deputy made contact with a female subject concerning the horses. -M CSO received report of a commercial bur glar alarm in Boardman. -M C S O d e p u ty conducted a field interview with a subject with a school d istric t fo u r-w h e e le r in Irrigon. The Storm includes girls from Irrigon, Athena, Pendleton. Hermiston and Baily Bennett from Hep pner. On Saturday the girls went 2-0 in pool play beating The Invasion and High Voltage. Bennett pitched a one-hitter versus High Voltage to get the win. On Sunday, they met rivals from Daves Food Mart (Pendleton) in the semi-final game which they won 6-4 with a late game come back. Bennett went 3-3 hitting and homeruns by Noel Wright (Irrigon) and Paige Long (Hermiston) sealed the win. In the championship game, they faced off against the High Voltage team again and won 5-0 bringing the trophy back to the eastside. Coaches for Co lumbia Storm are Saul Castro of Stanfield and his daughter Candice Castro. The team is in Newberg over the 4,k of July and will play 4-5 more tournament through the rest of July. Music in the Parks to be held July 5 The Music in the Parks series will continue on Monday, July 5, at Irrigon Marina Park at 7 p.m. Musical guests 98% Angels will “Honor our Veterans”. Music in the Parks is funded by the Morrow County Unified Recreation District and PGE. March 23: The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received report that Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kimberly A. Forsythe, 39, on an Irrigon Justice Court warrant for Failure to Pay Fine/Driv- ing While Suspended. She was lodged at the Marion County Jail with $701 bail in full. -MCSO cited Earl C. Parker, 71 for Violation of the Basic Rule, 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. -MCSO deputy re ported a subject who had pulled over on Hwy. 730, Irrigon. The deputy stopped to see if the subjects were okay. They thought they were getting pulled over. -M CSO received request for a boat inspec tion from Boardman Fire Department. -MCSO cited Lou ise Celeste Broadfoot, 46 for D riving W hile S u s pended violation and Fail ure to Carry Proof o f In surance. The vehicle was impounded. -M CSO received report from the city o f Ir rigon that residents may be building a shop without permits. The city requested a deputy to check to see if they are in compliance. -M CSO received report from a Lexington subject o f three abandoned vehicles and a request for forms to be filled out. -M CSO received re p o rt from a H e p p n e r woman that a black lab on her property was getting aggressive toward her. -MCSO cited An gel R oberto R ivera, 66, for Violation o f the Basic Rule. -M CSO received report o f two boys riding motorcycles up and down the canal in B oardm an. They were both cited f o r Criminal Trespass II. -MCSO responded to a report o f child abuse in Irrigon with a juvenile reportedly beaten up by her mother. The D epartm ent o f Hum an S ervices was advised, but the call was de termined to be unfounded. -M CSO received report o f subjects throwing rocks and threatening to kill a female subject in Irrigon. MCSO and Oregon State Police responded, but the upon further investigation determined the report was unfounded. -M CSO received re p o rt th a t W ashington County Sheriff’s Office ar rested Patrick Donahue on a Morrow County Circuit Court warrant for DUII. He was lodged at Washington County Jail with no bail awaiting extradition. -M CSO received report o f a 90s model red Chevy parked on the dirt road running east and west o f Nevada.
