The reporter thought the dogs had pos sibly been stolen. -MCSO received a report o f a female subject headed down Highway 74 by the golf course. An off duty deputy was trying to get her to return home. The subject was escorted home. -MCSO received a report o f a silver car and a red car racing near the etha nol plant. MCSO was unable to locate the vehicles. -MCSO received a report of trespassers at the Thom pson Corrals at the end o f Balm Fork. The sub jects left and the reporter did not want contact. A deputy checked the area but was un able to locate the subjects. -MCSO received a report of a juvenile offering marijuana to the reporter’s children at the Irrigon Ma rina. -BPD picked up a white stray dog and trans ported it to the Hermiston Vet Clinic. -B P D a s s is te d M CSO locate a m issing male. -BPD received a re port o f a pit bull squaring off with a male. BPD was un able to locate the dog but the owner will look for it. The owner was given a warning that he would be cited next time. The owner’s son found the dog. Awana Bible Club starts up again on Thursday night, September 6 at Wil low Creek Baptist Church in H eppner. Awana w ill run from 6:30-8 p.m. most Thursday nights from Sep tember until early April. All area children in kindergarten through the sixth grade are invited to attend. Awana is one o f the largest non-denominational children's ministries in the w orld. C urrently Awana clubs are active in more than 110 countries, reach ing more than one million young people each week. The Willow Creek Baptist Aw ana Club is a joint com munity effort with leaders from at least four other area churches involved. A locksmith was called to get her back in to her home. -H eppner Fire De partment received a report o f a possible fire across the creek where the bark is stored. It was unknown if the fire was threatening anything. August 15: -MCSO received a call with the re porter stating that a female subject was intoxicated and he would like her to leave. Joshua Ray Dunn, 28, was cited for providing alcohol to a minor. Joleen Renee Pnkham, 19, was cited for minor in possession - al cohol. -MCSO received a report o f a stray dog. A deputy responded that this was the same dog he had been attempting to catch that morning but was unable to locate it. The deputy said he would keep trying. -MCSO received a report of three horses out in the middle of road just past Willow Creek Road. -MCSO received an animal complaint o f a cat on the reporter’s property and they would like it removed. It is unknown who the cat belongs to. At 7:02 p.m. Sheriff’s Office personnel arrived at the scene and determined that the shoot ing had stopped and the male subjects were off the roof. Two officers began an investigation to determine where the shots came from and who was responsible for the shots being fired. The in itial rep o rt identified a white male sub ject was shooting a rifle from the top o f his residence. The reporting party said the bul lets were bouncing off the ground near w here th eir children were playing. O fficers contacted two male juvenile subjects ages 14 and 15 and deter mined that the 14 year old male was shooting a .22 caliber rifle and had shot the neighbors house several times, shot a basketball back- board in the same neighbor’s yard several times, and had endangered two small chil dren that were playing in the yard where bullets had bounced off the ground near their location. In addition, both boys had been shooting at rabbits and quail in a field across the street. Two dead rabbits were found that had been placed in a different neighbor’s yard. The 15 year old was released to his par ents and the 14 year old was transported to The Dalles and lodged in NORCOR Youth Detention Facility. A follow up inves tigation was conducted and additional checks o f the neighborhood w ere co n ducted to determine if ad ditional damage was done to other home ow ners. No one was injured from the rifle fire and addi tional interviews are pend ing. C h arg es filed in clude: Reckless Endangering x2 (involving the children); C rim in al M isc h ie f F irst Degree x3 (shooting mail boxes, residence and basket ball backboard); Criminal M ischief III (throwing dead rabbits into a n eig h b o r’s yard); and Unlawful Use of a Firearm x8 (firing a total o f eight shots from the rifle in the direction o f children playing in the back yard).
