Not so! Approximately 80 percent o f all homes are sold through real estate agencies. A signifi cant portion o f the homes not sold professionally are sold to family members, co-workers, neighbors or friends. Surveys show that 45 per- S Y K E S cent o f sellers who did sell on their own. would hire an agency next time around. The major problems cited were: getting the right price, attract ing buyers, having enough time to devote to the sale, understanding and perform ing the paperwork, selling in the length o f time planned and helping the buyer obtain financing. Some o f real estate agencies' most satisfied cus tomers are those how have tried and failed to sell their homes without professional help.
