Results are as follows. Women As a team. Heppner placed 25lh overall with nine points scored. 800 meters: Erin Price placed ninth in the finals with a time of 2:32.94a. 1500 meters: Catherine McElligott placed eighth in the finals with a time of 5:24.24a. 100 high hurdles: Erin Price placed 10"' in the prelim s with a time of 20.25a. 300 low hurdles: Brynna Rust placed sixth in the finals with a time of 51.27a. ,j| 300 low hurdles: Brynna Rust placed sixth in the prelims with a time of 50.48a. 4x400 relay: Brynna Rust, Kristen Van Cleave, Erin Price, and Catherine McElligott placed eighth in the finals with a time of 4:23.77. 4x400 relay: Brynna Rust, Kristen Van Cleave, Erin Price, and Catherine McElligott placed seventh in the prelims with a time of 4:21.71a. ’ High Jump: Amber Patton placed fifth in the finals with a jump of 5'. Shot put: Zach Kurtz placed eighth in the finals with a throw of 43’07.00. Javelin: Zach Kurtz placed sixth in the finals with a throw of 149'04". Casey O'Neal placed 10lh with a throw of 139". Long jump: Casey O'Neal placed fifth in the finals with a ju m p of 2 0 ’00.75". Caleb O 'Neal placed ninth with a jump of HHS golf team competes at state 19*00.50” . Triple jump: Jordan Hatfield placed fourth in the finals with a ju m p of 40'10.50. W I IDH OUST The H eppner M ustang baseball team finished out their Special District 5 play with an 18-1 win over the Pilot Rock Rockets capping off a 21-0 record in league play on Tuesday, May 15. The Mustangs, now 22-3 overall, played the Nestucca Bobcats in Heppner on Tuesday. May 22 in the first round of the O SAA US B an k /L es Schw ab Tire C lass 2A baseball championships. The winner will face the winner of Umpqua Valley Christian- Joseph on Friday, May 25, at a site to be determined. The Mustangs got on the board early against the R ockets as D ennis Kenny reached on fielders choice; Quinn Peck singled; Andre Rauch walked; Nacho Elguezabal hit a sac fly; Bryan Holland walked as Peck scored on a wild pitch; Jared Huddleston walked; Nathan Kennedy and Colton Hanson both walked with the bases loaded to force in runs and Chance Day scored two with a single to make it 6 - 0 . They added three more in the second when Rauch walked and ended up scoring as Elguezabal reached on an error; Holland singled; Kennedy walked; Hanson had an RBI single; and Day walked to force in a run. The Mustangs made it 10-1 in the third when Peck walked and ended up scoring on an Elguezabal single. Eight more runs in the fourth put the game aw ay as Day dou b led ; Peck reached on an error; Josh Shank walked; two runs scored as E lguezabal reached on an error; Holland reached on a fielder's choice; Drew Johnson and Kennedy had RBI singles; Hanson walked; and Day completed a great day at the plate with a grand slam homerun to left field. Day went four innings striking out eight and allow ing no hits with Kennedy pitching a perfect fifth to complete the no hitter. Day went 3-3 with a double, homerun and seven RBls; Holland went 2-3 scoring three runs; Elguezabal had five RBIs; Kennedy had two RBIs and scored twice; Hanson had two RBIs; and Peck and Rauch each scored three times. The Heppner FFA chapter worked together Saturday, May 19. to complete a Creek Clean-Up on Willow Creek. The c h ap te r is w orking to g e th e r with community members and groups to complete various projects a s well as earn money that they can put tow ards the costs of attending the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, next October. A meeting for students and their parents that arc interested in attending N ational FFA Convention next fall will be held next Monday. June 4. at 6 p.m. in the Ag classroom.
