I was on v acatio n from Tacoma Wednesday, 9/28/05, traveling the Oregon Scenic Byways. After lunch at the Wil low Creek Diner, I discovered two trouble lights were on when 1 started my car. A young man at the Shell station directed me to D & L Auto Repair. Dale A d lard in sp e c ted my ’96 Nissan and determined that the alternator was dead. He sent to Portland for the part and told me it would be in Heppner by 10 a. m. the next day. 190 miles? Unbelievable! Kathreen, at the Northwest ern Motel, very kindly provided everything 1 needed to make my stay comfortable and arranged for me to remain past the 11:00 check-out time if necessary. 1 was fortunate to be able to use the computers at the Gallery and the library to send e-mails to people back home. The next day. Dale installed the part and sent me on my way by noon. 1 was able to enjoy the rest of my vacation with no fur ther car problems. Thank you, Dale! You did a great job.
