To win the co m p etitio n , L ankford undertook four projects to ask Megan Orr, his girlfriend of six months, to the prom The first three projects he performed on April 7 and the final one was completed on April 8 First he changed the school reader board located on the highway to read, “Megan will you go to prom with me?” He then made signs with the words: “ Megan- W ill-Y o u -G o -T o -P ro m - With-Josh-?” that he posted along the path from the high school to the softball field A fter those tw o tasks, Lankford then put an ad on Heppner T V. with a picture o f him self and a message again asking Megan to go to prom with him Finally, L ankford called KORD 102.7, a radio station in Tri-Cities, on April 8, and spoke w ith Paul Drake, explaining to him about the competition and his wish to ask Orr to the prom Drake recorded the c o n serv atio n and told Lankford to ask Orr to the prom on the air Drake then gave Lankford 20 minutes to co n tact O rr and get her listening to the radio Lankford was able to reach Orr who was shopping in the Tri-Cities and told her “to start listening to 102.7 and w ait until she heard something really awesome before she stopped ” He then called O rr’s mother and his own mother so they could hear the radio conversation as well In response to all of Lankford’s hard work, Orr answered his proposal by putting an ad on Heppner T V , stating, “Josh, YES, Megan ” We Print Letterhead H eppner GT 676-9228 fax 676-9211 Give Mom a new favorite.
